Nobody could accuse you of being unpredictable could they.....

Nope - nowhere near.

LOL "unattended by adults" would have made the sentence too long-winded.

I don't know why he ever added the "Strode" to his surname, because those of us that have known him since we were kids will always know him as Andy Gibbons. It may be his mums maiden name - can't remember. He fell in love with SFC at the same time as me - I should know because we both sat alone in his parents lounge as kids and watched SFC beat Man Utd 1-0 in the 1976 Cup Final. His dad then took us to Channon's testimonial on the following Monday night. I have never spoken to him about the proposed buy out of Southampton a year a two ago, but always believed that the press just got hold of his name as a local wealthy Saints fan and took a punt by contacting him to see if we was interested in buying the club. I expect he quite liked the attention and provided a few ill-advised sound bites for them. Before he knew it, he was in up to his neck and then had to wriggle his way out of it. Good job the press then found Crouch and Co. which allowed him to slip back into the background wishing he had kept quiet. I am sure he will put me straight if I have this wrong....

Pat yourself on the back. You are a very important person who has greatly influenced the fate of SFC with marvelous foresight and action......or maybe you too are deluded? Which one do you reckon? Maybe all the people who were clever enough to predict this marvelous outcome (which is still not set in stone) should also write a letter of apology to the staff of SFC who had a very dark 24 hours (or more) worrying if they had a job or could pay their mortgage this month. Then again, supreme strategists like yourself have to make these painful decisions knowing full well that the pain of a few lesser beings is a fair price to pay for the greater good of your master plan. On the other hand, maybe you just don't know your arse from your elbow.

I note with interest you picked out the part of my post that you felt you could answer, and skipped the trickier subsequent question. I think I will move to another thread because I am clearly engaging with a deluded fantasist. I have an inkling that you are using this forum as a means to inflate your feeling of self-importance.....so - have fun - bye :smt039

You are not seriously trying to suggest those people who decided not to attend did so because they envisaged their actions would culminate in the position we are currently in are you? Laughable in the extreme. It is amazing how clever people like to portray themselves given the benefit of hindight. Would you have posted this if the very real possibility of SFC disappearing from the face of the earth had come to fruition?

Yes, I think it has been paid solely for exclusivity so that they cannot be trumped (for 21 days).

Celebration Plaza - destined for disaster with a sh1te name like that :-) I actually joined, but only went once.

I am a bit concerned about Tony Lynam being involved in the ongoing decision making process at SFC. I (naively) assumed that once the deal was done he would collect his commission and go back to the day job. My concern is based solely on the fact that he has (apparently) no previous experience of running a football club - but then I gather the money man has none either. Maybe he is purely a conduit between MLT, the club and the man with the cash rather than somebody who will make decisions (like hiring and firing for example).

You are truly a skilled wind-up merchant. Had me in stitches - thanks for the belly laugh :-) Do you sit back and keep a count of the number of bites you get afterwards? Surely nobody read this and thought you were being serious.
-
I would love him back personally, but a Facebook group, other than give an indication of the feelings of a minority of internet-savvy supporters, is not going to have the slightest influence on whether or not it will happen - so I'll give it a miss thanks.

Crikey - do you have any theories about who really killed JFK?
-
I think that the number of people behind it has fluctuated as things progressed - probably with one individual remaining firm. Who knows at the moment. Maybe today somebody extra committed to enable them to risk putting down the £500k.

Name dropper!

Ahhh, so you are Mike Osman. That's how you know its not thegaffer.

Serves you right for using shi!t cheap golf balls. My Titleist Pro V1's go straight into the woods without a hint of a hook or a slice.

Who wants to be the first person to start a thread about the reason it is taking so long to complete the deal? After what seems like an age waiting for this to happen, we now have to fret for up to 21 days to find out if the deal will be concluded. It is like all the worry of waiting for a baby to arrive, and when it does the worrying really starts.....I'm still going to wet the babies head tonight though.

Too bloody cold. Indoors up the road for me - red eyes from the chlorine before you got out of the changing rooms.
-
Yes, but lets calm down a bit. Nobody is going to throw a fraction of that amount at SFC unless they are complete lunatics. I would imagine it has taken this long to conclude because the plan (and the finances to achieve the plan) are very tight. We don't want to end up back in this position ever again, so lets hope they are prudent people, spending wisely so we have a solid basis for progression back up the leagues. Plus we'll need more than that to bid for Kaka !!!!!

£500k surely - or are taking the ******?.
-
Don't worry - we can keep going for years on £500k surely??
-
Somebody wake him up I am backing up DT's "Pinnacle Out" campaign of course.
-
Chortle chortle. I actually do not know how to put someone on "ignore" - but when I do you'll be a good test :-) Just joking ;-)

Complete wasters the lot of 'em. They are to blame for all our woes.
