  1. 9/10 for product knowledge...Hempel bought Blakes a few years back...and that's what it was. Was wearing an old pair of genuine Docksiders to show how I spit in the face of convention..a little worried that they too may have been splashed and what this could say about my image....
  2. 'Is it wrong to be inquisitive? Is it wrong to try and understand how the human mind works at times? Is it wrong to take an interest in what makes people tick? I don't believe it is.' Quote from post 165 from the author above... Don't close the thread - it gets funnier by the minute:lol:
  3. I'd need to disinfect any floor that had been wiped by that!
  4. So am I...have we killed Timberland as a brand or am I just the exception that proves the rule? It's so difficult to know what to do...splashed some yacht varnish in to my eyebrow last night and wasn't sure if it constituted face painting?
  5. P*mpey Takeover Saga thread? Too much to talk about that's on subject I'd respectfully suggest:)
  6. I think that it shows a nice and caring side of the self-appointed 'cool gang' that they take such an avid interest in what other men are wearing....very 'in touch' )
  7. So you don't mind the description uber-fashionista - it's just the apoplexy bit that gets you all contradictory? So much to take in and understand...I'm with dune on being disbelieving of the four pages but I'm just in a very good mood after the weekend and it's all good for an easy-target p iss take thread.
  8. My club, in fairness, is represented by largely youthful footballers dressed in the team kit. It's supported by various tens of thousands of both genders of all ages dressed in all manner of fashion, fancy dress, part team strips of varying vintages...a very small percentage of whom occasionally dress in a manner that sends the uber-fashionistas apopletic...which isn't a bad reason for doing it on reflection?!
  9. Far be it from me to put words in the mouth of the Don.... But I think he sees a paying customer...maybe you could write and suggest a clown-suit tax perhaps, a wig-toll?
  10. The club has said nowhere, to my knowledge, that it is embarrassed...it is just you fashion icons whose 'coolness factor' appears to be ruffled...?
  11. Is it wrong to be inquisitive? - No it isn't Is it wrong to try and understand how the human mind works at times? - No it isn't but you have to accept the probability of multiple different answers that may differ from your deeply held conditioning and that they aren't necessarily all wrong...just different see above for why you are asking. Is it wrong to take an interest in what makes people tick? Not at all - nor is it wrong if they tick to a different rhythm, timescale or note to the one that you accept as the only way - or even outside a wider band of parameters. Happy to help with your curiosity...these, naturally, are just my opinions...they may differ from yours and many others but they work for me. Dressing up is not what amuses me, nor is that Hyacinth Bucket sitcom but if others laugh at or find enjoyment in either it doesn't embarrass me - why should it? I'm comfortable enough in my own skin, I'm inquisitive as to why you feel it so deeply, what happened in your youth to engender such disquiet? But mostly I'm just taking the p iss as the subject is not one of the more serious ones within my life and agendas
  12. For the same fun as the perpetrator craved in creating it?!
  13. I'm truly touched that you care so much for your self-image that you feel the need to defend it on sites where you have no idea who you're talking to, whether they even attend matches or what they wear. I genuinely don't give a slimy turd what some other fans think of some of our fans and I'm certainly not feeling demeaned by the fact that my 'credibility' is affected by a bunch of 'England Fans' saying one thing or another about my team. I'll support Saints wearing what I like, sing the songs I like, take the p iss out of who I like (either at the match or on a forum;)) and be as contented or discontented about what's happening on the pitch as I always have done....I just can't be a rsed with precious pseudo-ubers who find it an issue to their image of themselves... ....other than to sit on a forum extracting the urine...which is, of course, the raison d'etre for this thread!
  14. Nobody who had ever been downwind of it, for sure, but beyond that I couldn't take it seriously enough to labour the point
  15. Ahhh...Turkish knows who I am...bang to rights guvnor...so desperate to be liked and still my mum buys me the wrong uniform!
  16. Loving the fishing but at least it's now established who the 'us' in the thread title refers to...
  17. +1 Followed by Middlesborough at home. Leeds home and away were pretty good as was Forest...good season wasn't it?!
  18. Baton's not for sale and Savage has retired...
  19. I think that they'll both do well, Adam has come on leaps and bounds in his effectiveness - I'd like to see more goals from the number of chances he makes for himself I'm sure he would too!) but that too will come and Morgan has it all in his armoury..passing, vision, accuracy and an ability to see a move seconds ahead of most of the opposition which is why we need quality of our own to think with him...so back to Adam and Ricky again. Cork won't struggle either, for me he's been a far greater factor than he generally gets above the radar for..tremendous engine, of course, but nearly always available to receive or cover in tackles...and Guly was a major factor yesterday in us playing as we did for the first month or two of this season.
  20. I hope friends and family of St Markus felt the happiness and joy of Saturday....through the fans and for themselves. I'm hoping that knowing that what he had dreamed and planned for with Nicola Cortese had come to fruition would give them the same warm feeling that every Saints fan feels for St Markus...would have been nice to see his image on the big screens during the celebrations but hearing his name so many times during and after the game (plus so many times over the last couple of seasons) conveyed the affection in which he will always be held in Southampton. Thanks Markus, thanks the Liebherr family - and thanks Nic Cortese for delivering your friend's dream.
  21. Agreed, superb
  22. Good luck to you and Coventry mate...starting about 2.30 tomorrow. I've been where you are now and you can hold your heads up in a way that them to the East will never be able to - look forward to seeing you back on the up again soon.
  23. Don't know yet... I want some of what Saint Scooby is on!!
