  1. It is if it displays the brand.
  2. Being able to afford something and being prepared to pay for something is different. I just happen to believe you can dress smartly without paying for a label. In fact I wouldn't be seen dead in stone island or some other pretentious label meant to impress others. It's the height of chavvyness.
  3. Because they've got more money than sense.
  4. It is clear from our high ticket prices and the RyanAir type add ons (i.e the £3 Cortese Tax on online/phone purchases) that Saints aim to be charging top whack for tickets going forward. We are clearly divided as to whether this is exploitation and gutter business ethics or the price we must pay for success. Inevitably opinions are complicated further due to location, how you watch saints (tickets v season tickets), frequency of attendance etc. Far be it from me to suggest that the opinions of those who don't go very often are less than fans who do spend a lot of money supporting the club, but it must be said that it's naturally more easy for the "match thread" type fans to stomach price hikes. So the question is how much would you be prepared to pay in financial terms to watch Saints?
  5. If you hate it stand up and shout about it. In other countries fans are not ripped off because they wouldn't stand for it. As Winston Churchill once maybe said "sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand and stand your ground". It's a shame we as a nation and a fanbase are so easy to be treated like ****.
  6. What are your thoughts on the ethics of the said booking fee?
  7. At present our ticket prices are high, and as in the case of gutter businesses i.e RyanAir we have a Cortese Tax on online/phone purchases which bumps the price up further. Nick you need to realise that we are a League 1 club where supply exceeds demand. If Cortese is prepared to charge premium prices + sneaky add ons now it stands to reason that as demand matches and exceeds supply he's going to hammer us with exhorbitant prices. When this happens I do hope you will be happy.
  8. I've edited your post.
  9. I'm not disputing any of this, but comparing the poor decisions, poor PR, and general contempt for the fans of Lowe and Cortese. Put Lowe in Cortese's position with a rich owner and there'd be little to choose between them. Put Cortese in Lowe's position in charge of the PLC and again there's little to choose between them. In short I am comparing Lowe and Cortese as people and if anything Cortese cares less for the fans imo.

  13. I never thought i'd ever agree with such a statement, but it's true. In Cortese we have our very own Ken Bates.

What a weird view to take.

I was one of the first to see through "Mike". It may suit your spin to compare Cortese to this clown, but you are simply using the worst case scenario to excuse Cortese's decisions.
  16. Not everybody wants a season ticket for myriad reasons. So with you is it just a case of "i'm alright jack"?
  17. Will you be able to afford to watch many more games the more Cortese hikes the prices? If you are priced out of football will this affect your enjoyment?

No, but there's little to pick and choose.
  20. I don't think he did, but the fans charter (or whatever it was called) signaled an intention to act in a certain way. 12 months later we all now know it was a hollow gesture.

The original and the best. But what the new thread clearly shows is that Cortese is losing support by the day as fans wake up to the fact that Cortese is cold and uncaring. Don't get me wrong it's nice to have Markus's money, hell it can even be argued that it's nice to have a club, but that still doesn't mean it isn't disapointing to have a chairman that has very little emotion towards supporters. For Cortese it's all about getting from A to B.
  22. April 20th rings a bell, I think you've got your date wrong.
  23. Keith Floyd. All the rest are poor immitations.
  24. Perhaps you have trouble controlling your classes and get sworn at because of this immature attitude. Children are very perceptive and if they see their teacher acting in a certain way they may well think it's acceptable for them to replicate this behaviour. Just a thought.
  25. All i've got to say is that I'd love to not pay the £3 Cortese Tax. It's ****ing daylight robbery and so much for Liebherr and his business ethics.
