Sour Mash replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
Massive game that, should be a cracker. -
Is it right for the media to use images of refugee tragedy?

And just to clarify, as it's not clear, do you think immigration to this country has been too high and do you think anyone that wants to move here should be allowed to stay? -
Can you imagine the reaction if England were doing the same as Holland. Would be interesting to hear from a few of the Dutch posters on this.

Freedom of movement in the EU is one of the causes of this situation. -

Look at the predicted immigration figures from 2004 from Eastern Europe and compare that to the numbers that have actually come over - many millions more. What is your solution for the situation? -

But they don't want to go to a lot of the EU. Hungary is part of the EU isn't it? And what happens if/when they're given permanent status? Where in the EU will they head to then? -

Look at the pictures from Budapest Station this morning. These people don't want Eastern Europe and aren't stopping there. -

But he's always pretty clear on his views on the EU. Who's decided we'd only have to take a few thousand? -
That Nivea Advert is utterly s**t.
-
Agreed. Don't know why we didn't go for Sam Byram perhaps.

His view of the world is that anyone he disagrees with is wrong, those are the stats he likes I guess. -

So how many immigrants would you consider too many? -

What's wrong with thinking our immigration figures are too high and we can't allow everyone that wants to live here to migrate. It's a pretty straight forward, popularly held view and will continue to be so. -
Fair enough, guess that makes sense. Does that suggest that finishing 7th isn't an over-achievement for us?

Is there a comparable list showing value of sales?
-
But it's net spend that is surely more relevant than gross spend. But I do agree, there are costs to cover, Osvaldo, Ramirez, Mayuka, and the training ground is a big, on-going investment. It's no black and white, it's a fine balance to get right, I appreciate that.

What about his performances in all games this season bar Norwich?
-
Both.

See the scenes from Budapest Station this morning to see the massive economic migrant problem. -

Agreed. The problem needs serious focus and resources thrown into that part of the middle east/north Africa. -
How are Man City and Chelsea getting on? The league tables are based 90% on what clubs spend.
-
On the assumption we have a decent scouting network, a good manager and cash to spend, we should be able to buy better players. The more you spend, the better players you get. If we have a surplus I'd like to have brought in a better back up keeper and a creative attacking midfielder.

Too f*****g right, same goes for everyone I know. "Still a bit annoyed".

Wanyama and the St.Marys crowd ...boo or cheer ?
Sour Mash replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't sing Schneiderlin's name either, but how many key games did he miss because he wanted away? -
Who from the matchday squad is likely to drop out if Wanyama and Van Dijk are included for West Brom? Reed? Martina?
