Train nightmares. Alright with you mate?
-
The last time we played Reading away Virgin Trains, in their wisdom, decided to put on their service with only 4 carriages and we had the most uncomfortable journey ever from Winchester (reminded me a bit of the JPT final but that time the train company didn't allow us on the train). Tomorrow we're going to go to Brockenhurst first to try and ensure a more comfortable journey.

I joined as an away season ticket holder a few years ago. It's definitely still running. There is no financial benefit from joining but, as an earlier poster suggested, it takes all of the hassle out of buying tickets individually if you're going to go to all the away games anyway.

I would expect it to be free. They should not expect people to pay for something they're forced into (travelwise).

Just got official confirmation in the post that all travel will be via the official travel club with pick up points in Winchester, Bursledon and the stadium. Tickets will be issued on the coach.

Here's a catergory for you 'Teams you've only seen away'
Saint Malc replied to sandwichsaint's topic in The Saints
Of the 78 English teams I've seen Saints Play away (I count the likes of Charlton as 1 even though I've seen Saints play them in 3 different grounds) I can't remember seeing us play Aldershot or Barnet at home. I may be wrong. All the European teams I've see us play away I've been to the home leg as well (Marsailles, Anderlecht, Steaua București etc.). I went to Aberdeen on the Tuesday after the 2003 cup final but never seen them at home. I, also, went on a pre-season tour to Scotland and saw us play Motherwell and Kilmarnock but, I don't think I've seen them at home. Oh, wait a minute, I think we played Motherwell at home in a pre-season friendly at SMS a couple of seasons ago. Was it Motherwell that Rasiak came on and scored a couple, one with his first touch ? -
The grounds I've been to that are no longer there: Arsenal Brighton & Hove Albion x2 Bristol Rovers Cardiff City Colchester United Coventry City Derby County Hull City Leicester City Manchester City Middlesbrough Oxford United Reading Southampton Stoke City Sunderland Wimbledon I've seen Charlton in 3 different grounds

I, personally, totally disagree with everything you say. But if it works for you........... great.

If you can get a decent signal on your phone! On Saturday it took over half an hour to place 5 small bets on the Ladbrokes phone app which was pretty tedious. In fact Ladbrokes in the stadium had more options than the phone app as it had special bet A and special bet B as well.
-
The best thing for me was walking away from the ground and listening to the Cardiff fans talking behind us saying how good and loud the Saints fans were. The best they'd heard. Remember, we are Saints :-)

Thank you sooooooo much for sanctioning my 'having a bit of fun'. I don't think I could've got through the day without your approval.

The diffence between the Alex situation and others is he went to the press before any deal was concluded. I would, good naturedly, boo Alex as similarly I would, the biggest ar$e of the lot, Kenwyn Jones. It's football and it's been like that for donkeys (Kenwyn Jones) years and it ain't gonna change. Some people need to relax a bit as it's not going to affect Alex in the slightest and it's just a bit of fun.

Was it ever, in fact pouring. And was it Campbell Forsyth in goal?

Losing 1-5 at home with the GK scoring has to be Leicester in the late sixties with Shilton scoring for Leicester.

My daughter and I were caught on the Millwall side of the separation and had to walk through the entire mob. Things like that don't bother me but it was as aggressive as it could get under the circumstances. So, with the exception of the skate bar-steward game, if they close the north car park for any other game, I would like to know the reason why because it doesn't get much worse than that. Otherwise the OB are talking carp.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pardew sacking after our 0-4 drubbing of Bristol Rovers. I was gutted at the time but, as it happens, what a great decision :-) Anyone disagree?

The "how did brighton get so annoyed with us" thread
Saint Malc replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
I had to laugh out load the other day. I work in Worthing atm and it has recently got me bemused why Brighton hate us so much, and not their closest enemy the skates, so I asked the many Brighton fans I work with. Most told me it's, generally, because we're the biggest club on the south coast. Ha! :-) -
Rut has sent me the photo but I can't seem to upload it as it needs a URL Doh!.

There was a photo at the time and it was on the UI message board. Rut, who sometimes frequents this board, took the picture. I'll ask him if he still has a copy
