  1. 4 losses on the trot. Disgraceful for a club like ours in any league, really. Bloke needs his P45 promptly. A fucking fraud.
  2. Agreed. One of the best fullbacks in the league last year. Probably the same level as Manning - not great but should do a job. Will Holgate? Let's see.
  3. Frazer keeps his place but Edozie dropped? Is Armstrong undroppable then? Good luck today boys
  4. Nah, don't worry - Fabrice is right. It's clearly not a concern at all that our manager started a game with Joe Aribo and Will Smallbone as our central midfield wall.
  5. He wouldn't come back to this clusterfuck of a club. What has happened to us. Seriously depressing.
  6. These home fans are just so impatient. Can't they just support the team? Letting out any form of frustration is simply not on.
  7. That starting line up was confirmed to be pretty shite. Weak in the middle. The seriously concerning thing is that Martin couldn't see it. We tightened up second half by making changes that we should have had as part of our starting 11. It reeks of ineptitude. The saving grace is that he actually saw the issue and solution and made a change. Fuck me though, the players are a bunch of soft green eared wankers, aren't they? Couldn't penetrate a house of cards. Embarrassing. Just look at our goal difference. A ridiculous indictment of how bereft we are of belief or passion. Relaxed Russell certainly isn't bringing any of the latter out of the team. Are we now Stoke City? Numb.
  8. It's exactly that. Really sad that fans are feeling this way, a result of the dross of the past year.
  9. I truly hope that team surprises me. Again it looks like our 'spine', the central hub of our midfield and defence, is as flimsy as a fucking wet lettuce leaf. I predict we will be fucked over massively by Ipswich, 4-2. Prove me wrong, boys.
  10. Awful news. Dave seems like a salt of the earth fella and I really do hope he finds solace and comfort in memories shared and created with his wife. She'll live on in that way and in him.
  11. I agree with the 'it is only a game' sentiment. I have managed to begin feeling that way about Saints for a while now. It helps prevent any pain when we concede or lose. It's got to the point now where I don't get angry or sad, but instead chuckle at how bad we are at times. A shame, because it's nice to feel passionately about your club, but hey.
  12. Ipswich will, as Leicester did, cotton on to the ease at which we're countered from corners and any of our attacks. I see us scoring, but them scoring more. A common theme, I fear, for this season.
  13. So sorry to read of this. Your presence at her side will her strength and warmth in those last moments. We're all here for her, you and your family in spirit.
  14. He was seemingly bone tired towards the end of his time with us. We'd drained out any enthusiasm he had for football.
  15. Is our tactic to actually encourage the opposition to press high in numbers in order to make it easier to 'play through them'?!?! Great fucking idea, that one.
  16. The goodwill at the Norwich game was interspersed with people ridiculing some of our tactics and the ease with which Norwich tore us apart. A fair few down in the concourse were pretty livid at half time. Our defensive issues have been clear since then. We were lucky that QPR and Plymouth were wasteful in and around our box - they certainly got into it enough to make us pay if they could finish. We have conceded over 4 goals in half of our league games. That's not on, and the fans are rightly unsettled by it. Teams coming to St Mary's and finding it easy to play through us. It's going to unsettle and disturb the fans, of course it fucking is. I think people are worried. After hoping the downward trend of ineptitude might have been stopped after relegation, we've been faced with the same inept defense we've seen for years for most of our games this season.
  17. Firstly, that's just false, isn't it. Suits your argument, though. Secondly, that's bollocks. The fan base wants to see winning football. They don't particularly care about the style in which that is achieved. The issue is you can't win games of football if the opposing team have your tactics sussed out before the game has even started. The fans aren't comfortable because it is obvious we don't have the players to play in this way, not because of talent, but because of their lack of decision-making, their lack of calmness, their lack of being able to read the game.
  18. It just ties in to that old phrase from Semmens back in the PL, where we were 'lucky to be there' for 'a club of our size'. That fatalism, that attitude of inevitably about being up against it and losing regularly. Martin claiming to be mostly pleased after getting slapped about by an away team, making it easy for them to slice us open in the process, is ridiculous. No wonder the fans are pissed off.
  19. If we keep on with this defensive record, we'll end up conceding over 100 goals this season. It is absolutely no wonder that the fanbase is angry. It's schoolboy, hipster, fuckboy defensive tactics. It's trying to fly to the moon when you haven't even mastered walking.
  20. Love the Chapel revolution. Top class initiative and a real divergence from some of our passive fanbase in terms of delivering real action for the atmosphere.
  21. This is the issue. We have to work very hard to get three points because we are very unlikely to earn clean sheets. Russell's tactics leave a frail spine of the team exposed consistently, and the end result is fucking obvious to everyone but him.
  22. He's proud that they listened to him more than they did against Sunderland, or something.
  23. Those mentioning Cork, Hammond and Schneiderlin. Three proper central midfielders at this level with presence and impact. Compare that to last night. A myopic Smallbone, weak as piss and as sharp as a cushion. Downes shuffling possession with no real purpose. Both providing no presence or cover for the centre of our team. Charles only one with promise as it stands, being played out of position... A shame. A real shame.
  24. The bloke's on LSD or something. Seeing a different world to the rest of us.
  25. I mean, he's had time to make some changes. The warning signs were there since Norwich at home...
