  1. Yes, all of this should make a handy dent in the ONE MILLION POUNDS that the bestest & most passionate have allegedly raised: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/syndicate-takes-pompey-fans-pledges-past-1m-1-4615125 Particularly since a million is a drop in the ocean compared with their current burn rate - as Dr Evil needed to have pointed out to him [video=youtube_share;-DJtHL3NV1o]http://youtu.be/-DJtHL3NV1o
  2. Hartlepool fixture postponed: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/hartlepool-v-pompey-called-off-1-4615159 Their chance of winning the rescheduled game should be minimal provided the mercenaries fly the coop in January
  3. Its only the end of the world for them. Business as usual for everyone else
  4. Perhaps its more that they've been sad & delusional for quite some time: Rallyboy's quip about 4-1 referring to four fake owners and one billionaire is of course right on the money. I think its become a habit that most of them now find it difficult if not impossible to break
  5. @nagoyapompey Oh thats easy, we care because your frantic efforts to escape the self-inflicted predicament in which you find yourselves are comedy gold and we can hardly wait for the next installment
  6. 'glitterati' - snork
  7. I think there must be some kind of basic misunderstanding here. Surely no-one is seriously claiming that the most passionate bestest fans in the whole wide world may have been outdone by followers of a 3rd tier Scottish club? That would be unfair and demeaning to those few, those plucky few
  8. Bearsy's (still soiled) Baseball bat. What a Christmas present
  9. I got this far before becoming unable to continue due to laughing too much: "a fleeting moment which would serve as a microcosm of Pompey’s week" - According to Wikipedia, 'Microcosm, how a large world/society can be illustrated in the form of a small world (as opposed to a macrocosm)' - a moment in time cannot be any kind of society "The optimism was immense" - According to the OED, 'optimism' is a noun indicating a particular doctrine, view or belief. To my knowledge, one cannnot have an 'immense' doctrine, view or belief Legend.
  10. Its implied here that they only shifted 100 out of the 2000 or so they'd ordered - surely the most passionate & bestest fans in all the land should have bought more than 5% of the stock? Can't see them being needed next year Less is more 1:08 PM on 17/12/2012 WHY WASNT THERE MORE DRESSED UP IN THEM ? SAD LOSERS JUST SHOWS THEY HAVE NO SPIRIT P.S I'm a season ticket holder and paid for 1 ! So 1896 suits that's 1796 left for next year.
  11. After all this teasing, I do hope that when whatever it is emerges we won't be disappointed
  12. To be fair, The News' Sports section is pretty non-league already & has been for some months: for example, online today they have two downbeat Pompey articles and three about non-league-but-still-mighty Gosport Borough, Hawks and AFC Portchester
  13. It seldom ends well when people take themselves too seriously
  14. Please God.
  15. Irony: it's like goldy and bronzy only it's made out of iron
  16. Surely that would be too much to hope for. Wouldn't it?
  17. Beer over keyboard. Nurse!
  18. Phil is doing a great job in piquing my curiosity. Without wishing to go all 50 shades, I can hardly wait to hear what they've got in store for them next
  19. Yes, although that appears to require a significant shift in mindset from almost wholly deluded to at least partially objective
  20. I fixed it for you
  21. joking apart & without wishing to go O/T, its been hypothesised that the Newtown gunman had AS: my eldest son is AS & I may be undiagnosed AS. I don't find AS hugely funny
  22. I thought golf required better hand/eye coordination than any other other ball game
  23. I see what you did there
  24. The truth, as has been evident during repeated administrations, is that no-one who has any real money to invest wants anything to do with them. And the fact that so very few of their own people - who are, lets not forget, the most passionate and bestest fans in all the land - will touch this 'opportunity' with a barge pole confirms what we've been saying here for years - they've proved themselves to be the football equivalent of Pearl Harbour, the Towering Inferno, the Poseidon Adventure and every Hollywood disaster movie that was ever made all rolled into one. Hard to see them coming back from this
  25. You could at least have drawn a sprig of holly on it
