  1. I see what you did there
  2. The truth, as has been evident during repeated administrations, is that no-one who has any real money to invest wants anything to do with them. And the fact that so very few of their own people - who are, lets not forget, the most passionate and bestest fans in all the land - will touch this 'opportunity' with a barge pole confirms what we've been saying here for years - they've proved themselves to be the football equivalent of Pearl Harbour, the Towering Inferno, the Poseidon Adventure and every Hollywood disaster movie that was ever made all rolled into one. Hard to see them coming back from this
  3. You could at least have drawn a sprig of holly on it
  4. Plan B is revealed - one of them will win the Lottery, so now they're only one small step from safety- http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/whittingham-s-formula-for-survival-1-4591171 pompeypn1 12:48 PM on 15/12/2012 Mikeypfc no need to apologise mate I think most of us live a dream where Pompey are concerned. Take me for example, I played the euro millions on Friday with the jackpot roughly £65M and I said to the other half the first thing I'd do is buy fratton park and lease it to the trust for next to nothing. Yes indeed that pie in the sky sure do look tasty! Still haven't checked me tickets yet though mind! PUP
  5. They could have won if it hadn't been for those pesky overpaid players... The penny may be about to drop for some of the few - perhaps this one caught Kraken's recent post about playing the kids: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-frustrated-by-fratton-stalemate-1-4592560 Clanfield Blue 5:40 PM on 15/12/2012 "On paper, we have one of the strongest squads in the league. Again, they have let us down this afternoon. The financial issues are no excuse for poor performances - the players need to be more professional and just give 100% every game, which clearly hasn't happened. The players are an embarrassment to the club, and have really let down the supporters this season. We have a number of Championship quality players at the club, but only a handful of players have actually played with any passion and pride this season. That simply isn't good enough, so maybe we should just forget about being competitive and name an academy each side and save on the wages, as these players are clearly not worth it."
  6. They were overawed by the 12376 crowd and could only manage a goaless draw
  7. Carlisle equalised. bugger
  8. Shrewsbury one goal up, putting Pompey in relegation zone
  9. I'll drink to that
  10. Because they know full well, just as we do, that then they'd most likely lose every one of their games for the rest of their existence in L1 & attendances would drop further still, thus resulting in complete financial meltdown and ending with their prompt extinction.
  11. SSN: "...its what the fans want thats important...the uncertainty must be killing them." Actually, its all the years of dishonest & insolvent trading coming home to roost thats killing them & rightly so
  12. Late development: penny drops for some of the few- http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/change-in-terms-threatens-quick-resolution-in-pompey-case-1-4581909 PapaBlue 11:37 AM on 13/12/2012 "Have tried to check out the financial status of REL without success but interesting to see that Robinson has two other business names. Hackberry Properties and Goldar Property. Both of which filed accounts with a working capital of under TEN POUNDS!!!! I do hope Birch has correctly investigated him and seen proof of his funds."
  13. Just as well facepalms arent chargeable
  14. Dissolved 2/12/2008 or 2/12/2012?
  15. play up chainrai! Chainrai play up!
  16. The only 2 comment on this Pompey Pravda 'article' read as follows: perhaps their moribund condition has started to sink in finally... Rate: evola 10:44 PM on 17/11/2012 A true tear jerking story but unfortunately very little reality in there Im afraid. The Trust vision is unsustainable and I think they know it. Its more a case of a few well meaning but frankly not very sharp guys stringing us along in the vain hope that a serious buyer will come along. And if that were to happen it would have happened by now. Another one I keep saying is I went along today. Where was the atmosphere where were the fans ? 11k today. How can we keep saying we have great fans when so many dont bother to turn up. You voted Rate: Shooterhappy 8:25 PM on 17/11/2012 Doomed ....sorry

  18. We used to have a sayng when I was growing up in the Itchen Valley "empty barrels make the most noise' Well there's some truth to this: they probably have little else in their lives and if you're desperate then yes, you'll strain every sinew in the forlorn hope that, somehow, it will just make that tiny scrap of difference that carries the day. Bless
  19. Birch must be worried about the effect this continuing car crash is having on his reputation. It looks increasingly as if, far from protecting the interests of creditors, his actions (inaction?) will have led to most of the liquid assets being used to pay for his administration. Attaboy Trevor!
  20. Can't wish anyone out of a job. But what a charmer
  21. Neil, its not 'relish in' you dimwit. It's just 'relish'. Geeze, I thought you were a professional writer
  22. Anyone still think they deserve 'one last chance'?
  23. As in, what would Bond be without Blofelt? or Tom without Jerry? Nah, I want the stinking corpse decently buried, which would be about the only decent thing its done recently. I'm sure in due course something will crawl forth from the grave, as in one of those cheaply-made Boris Karloff B-movies, moaning and whinging & snuffling: perhaps in 20 years it could be considered a 'rival' but hopefully I won't be around to see it
