I think perhaps we could respond with a few fascinating propositions for them also
-
Nurse! New keyboard here please

Its been pointed out that there are really only three possible outcomes come 10/8/12: (1) Chinny owns them, (2) PST owns them, (3) they go pop. And the truly wonderful thing is that any of them will yield years of fun and laughter
-
And when I got there guess who was standing outside?
-
The metaphor of PFC as a worm twisting impotently on a hook of their own making, whilst distasteful, seems to be more and more appropriate. There's plenty more wriggling for them to do yet
-
And of course, the two alternative outcomes (Chinny or PST) are going to cause them so much unhappiness for so long that they are equal causes for celebration - Win-Win-Win
-
Lets not stuff the ballot box, tempting though it is. There should be enough right-thinking fans to ensure the right result just by voting once, particularly if we spread the word

47% now

Oh we can have such fun writing drafts for them

gotta get TCWTB in there somewhare. how about:
-
At the risk of stating the obvious - why would they unless of course they have an overwhelming desire to be LEGENDS on TIODM
-
Its a fair point, who wouldn't want to be a legend on TIODM? Anyone?

I wonder who exactly he spoke to? Name/date/time/phone number?

Thank you, I would love to have coined that one. In fact, I believe the association was first made yesterday by FloridaMarlin http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga&p=1419329#post1419329

Stale bread up to a fortnight old will toast nicely

Quite right. In fact there is a well-known inversely proportional relationship between their perceived numbers and the number that they *effectively* have. So yes, on that basis their 10 passionate die hard supporters are equivalent to, if not betterer than, our measly 50 000. In fact, taking their argument to its logical conclusion, if you just had one e.g. TCWTB that would represent betterer support than the entire remaining population of the Earth
-
Talking of which, have they been paid yet for Pompey's use of their facility?

Perhaps its a case of evolution in action. According to Darwin the necessary conditions for evolution to occur are: (1) Variation (as in genetic) - lets assume that they started off a few years ago with a mixture of types, as we have more or less agreed on this thread; (2) Competition (for survival) - sometimes called selection pressure - lets say that recent events have selected those with a more blinkered, bunker mentality; (3) Reproduction (to pass on certain advantageous traits) - presumably their current crop of supporters are doing their best to encourage all those they are in contact with to think the same way. Et voila - a new species

I think Neil Allen's tweet said Eastleigh training ground. Perhaps there will another doorstepping moment to rival the infamous Peter Storrie 'you're 'aving a larf' carpark episode

Joklng aside, the thing that made me first wonder about there really being a different way on Portsea Island of seeing the world was an article in one of the broadsheets a few years ago: if I remember rightly, it was written around the time of their 2008 cup campaign. The writer identified a kind of siege mentality and ascribed it to their small island geography/demography.
-
Its the Island of Dr Morreau i'n'it. No knowing what throwbacks and relics roam the streets

Has more of a ring than 'Portsea Island' and sums them up beautifully
