  1. I didnt make the original assertion that they cant afford it !!! Why cant some of you follow a conversation properly ? And your comment about "not good enough for us in the PL, but may be OK for others in the PL" just smacks of arrogance, sorry.
  2. Jesus f**king wept...... Someone else made the point that they cant afford it now. Which caused me to ask what will happen so that they will be able to afford it next year. Which is when you stepped in with what you clearly thought was your cute smart-arse answer at that time - although it has now clearly backfired upon you and shown you to be a troll.
  3. So why make a deal to possibly bring him in permanently next season if the plan is to pay for it then with promotion money if he is generally considered not to be good enough for the next level ? Thats plain gibberish. If they dont get promoted this season, they wouldnt be able to afford the permanent deal. If they do, so they can afford it, he aint good enough for the PL.
  4. You have completely lost it. Too much yeast gone up your nose ? You argued that one way to pay for Sharp and Hammond was from "promotion" (either increased TV rights or prize money, dont know, dont care, it doesnt matter). Both teams are in the championship, you tw*t. If they get promoted, they will be in the PL, the league you are all arguing that aint good enough for with us. Why will they be good enough with them ??. I think the mods should have a look at your pathetic desperate whining, before looking at me.
  5. Jesus. Another completely (probably deliberately) mis-interpretation
  6. We lost out on Büttner. I really wonder about the circumstances behind that. Does Ferguson and the Glazers really pay third-party comittments, or did Büttner's agent get wind of Manyoo interest then laid low for a couple of weeks to avoid the stink that gazumping would cause ?
  7. I was asked in this case a comparative question about Sharp and Mayuka. And I answered it.
  8. Not interested in superlatives, only interested in squad improvement. And it has to be said, the quality addition looks a little unbalanced. Would have been much happier if a LB or second CB had been added.
  9. Promotion is a rubbish argument (if Deano and Billy arent good enough for us in the PL, they arent going to be good enough for Brighton and Forest respectively either). Not sure the other arguments cut it either, since other demands will be made on that money.
  10. What is going to change to make them affordable ?
  11. Well, I was thinking this, but seeing as people get hysterical about my posts, I posed it as a question. Thing is, can we really ? This "with a view to a permanent deal" phrase tends to suggest that if Forest decide they want him, we have to sell, I seem to recall.
  12. Why have Sharp and Hammond been loaned out and not sold ? No money in the game, or contingency planning for next season ?
  13. Not happy that Fox is still #1 choice for LB, and how strong we are at CB remains to be seen.
  14. Another one I am sad to see go. He really lit the blue touchpaper on last season. Hope he does well. I hope this at least means Jack Cork isnt too bad.
  15. As I said earlier, I felt our attack was already reasonable, when you consider Lee was coming back from injury. I noted the concern of others about lack of pace, but for me the first priority was always defence.
  16. Huh ? Surely by staying they will get their chance ?
  17. Well, apparently not. I think he made a difference last season, and maybe considering the awful bereavement he has suffered as a fellow father of young kids I just want him to be happy and being offloaded at the first sniff of reaching the top seems desperately unfortunate. I cant answer that, since I dont know enough about Mayuka to have a feeling either way as to whether it will work out. But I do feel Billy would have worked out in some capacity, perhaps impact sub.
  18. Well, for me they both have risks attached, but Billy was already here and (for me) deserved the chance to prove himself at this level after his contribution to the promotion campaign.
  19. They are the new Portsmouth.
  20. A good summary, but would also add that the Billy Sharp situation is disappointing.
  21. Just my own opinion of ability and potential driving my viewpoint, Turkish. It aint a court of law. I've always felt defence is where experience is most critical and you dont take risks. Up front you can throw youthful exuberance at it and see how it gets on.
  22. Oh, I agree. Just seems a pity he wasnt really still in our plans. That is what makes me sad. Might never get his shot at the PL now. At least it seems Forest geuninely want him and he will be well supported there. And maybe he might feel happier back up North.
  23. One capable of playing to PL standard now with Kelvin as backup. Is that simple enough ?
  24. Agree with rebel, toe_punt, sammysaint and Pat Nevin. A real feeling of sadness about this one for me. Far too soon.
