  1. My point exactly. Nice to see not all ex-servicemen are d*ckheads with a sheep mentality.
  2. Nope, it didnt fund my college time. I made the decision not to try again when finished with my A levels. The AIB told me I would probably have been accepted for Dartmouth if it had been normal AIB. Cant you read or something ??? Really, you "I've been in the forces" über-men, including VFTT and Viking W*nker, have got major issues with civilians. All I said is I dont like the dishing out of promotions and ribbons to someone who hasnt earnt it just because of who is mummy is, and that it reminds me of banana republics and I get all this abuse. I know you swear an oath to the Queen, and I am a monarchist myself, but this blind loyalty and intolerance of differing opinion is a bit pathetic.
  3. This comment is unfair and hurtful. My "yapping" on issues related to the Armed Forces are most often about the politics of procurement and treatment of the personnel, and therefore mostly about the government and MoD. I havent served so wouldnt dream to comment on organisational or operational issues. At all times my concern has been about letting the men and women who do serve do their job in the safest and most effective way possible. As for my own background, I did want to join the RN but was told because of my academic background the only way I'd fit in would be as an Engineering Officer. So just after my 16th birthday I did the Admiralty Interview Board (at HMS Sultan ?) in order to try to win a college busary, of which only 20 were awarded a year amongst 500-600 candidates. Unsurprisingly I failed, but was told my performance would probably have seen me accepted into Dartmouth. However, after mulling over the AIB process at home, I decided I didnt like the trains of some of the questioning during the personnel and panel interviews; I was annoyed at questions regarding my parents wedding date in relation to my birth date, didnt see the relevance was of what family was currently in the RN, and didnt like feeback about me wearing the wrong colour socks for one of the panel. I decided at the level I was expected to enter that I didnt like the snobbery involved, so I went to a normal uni and decided I would re-evaluate my interest when I graduated, by which time it was clear to me I was heading on another path. So it has nothing to do with balls or fitness. So knock it off with the judgementality, especially as you were probably just a stoker or a powder monkey.
  4. What a pair of sad tw*ts they are. I'd imagine NC has had them black listed like Illingsworth.
  5. I never said he did. So it seems you are the one talking crap, as usual. I am finding it difficult to understand why he has been promoted to a five-star rank for each armed force when in fact he has not demonstrated ANY leadership qualities in a battle enviroment. This also has NOTHING to do with valour. I simply believe in leading by example, and he hasnt set any example.
  6. B*ll*cks. In which battles has he served, led, been wounded ? This is the sort of stunt that banana republics pull. At least Phillip, Andrew and Harry have served in wars, and William is at a normal rank.
  7. Were you there or did you spot them on TV ? I was keeping a sharp eye out but didnt catch any.
  8. If this is really true, I would expect another war at some point, and some curious nation alignment/allying activity in the run up to it.
  9. Nancy is borderline ****gable. I wouldnt touch Palapatina with a bargepole.
  10. I've been looking for a piccy of her before she had her Emperor Palpatine Transformation by the Dark Side of the Force moment, and before McAlpine were called in for the repair job, but could only find this : bit of a plain jane...
  11. Arguably, the UK was already on the road to a long and painful recovery, but of course thats another debate...
  12. Forget bowling, I bet you'd need a 2 x 4 strapped to your arse. Does her make-up come from Rimmel or Blue Circle (if they are still allowed to trade in Argy-land)
  13. Well, if the Argie population are stupid enough to keep voting for her on this issue and ignore the country going down the plughole, they deserve to end up starving and homeless. Its the international support dimension that is important to her strategy, and in trying to become S. Americas equivalent of Hugo Chavez with tits (actually forget that, I am sure Hugo has got bigger tits than hers) she is badly overplaying her hand to everyone except the most barking little despots in Bananaland..
  14. And there are a lot in the UK who feel the same back. I am sure David Cameron is well aware of this at the moment too. However, long term I trust him over the Falklands with Cleggie, Hughes, Cable, Osborne and Hammond up his *rse just about as far as I can throw them.
  15. Didnt she throw an almighty strop and walk-out about 6 weeks ago at a conference of American states because the US and Canada vetoed an attack on the UK being included in the end of conference joint statement ???
  16. You are joking. She isnt clever at all. In fact, I go along with the stance of questioning her sanity too. She definitely has a couple of self-awareness issues. By trying to distract her electorate from the fact the country is going down economically faster than the Belgrano did, with a punch-up with the UK, she is actually doing EXACTLY the same thing as the military junta in 1982 did, yet part of his strategy is to say that the Argentine government is different from the junta and because of it deserves to be engaged in peaceful negotiations She banged on about UK non-adherence to UN resolutions since 1965 in her Guardian advert, conveniently forgetting Resolution 502 And I could go on and on about more of her inconsistencies and delusions, but the whole story about the UK "pirates" kicking the Argies out in 1833 is the jewel in the crown here... Add in her picking fights with Spain, the US and basically defaulting left, right and centre on every loan the nation has, I think you'll find the resolve of her support in South America is falling away rapidly....
  17. Ah, you are fond of holding your women like a bowling ball too....
  18. Lowe being a pr*ck ? You could argue that he was doing his best by SFC, but if he was agreeing to deals he shouldnt have gone back on his word. I thought he liked to portray himself as a bit of a gentleman. I felt the same about Jordan as you - not exactly likeable, but the best of a bad lot.
  19. Ahem... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2159522/Drivers-face-90-spot-fine-points-wrong-lane-tailgating.html Are you psychic ?
  20. Kiss my *rse. I am expressing my opinion, and I dont agree it was necessarily a good point. If NC had felt it could cause an upset and there had been a need to consult the family, it would never have been displayed at all.
  21. It could. Why concerns me most is that the very thought even occurred to you......
  22. Well, it seems abundantly clear that they were not consulted at all, otherwise the club would not have displayed it in the friendly game that they did. Which also suggests that their reaction to it caught NC by surprise too....
  23. I'm not sure he is, tbh. If the Liebherr family dont want to see it when they come to SMS, it can stay locked up on those days. If the Liebherr family dont want a permanent memorial to Markus at the ground, that I can accept. But why should a fan funded temporary memorial, which helps the fans identify with the club, stay permanently locked away ? The club could have made a gesture, like agreeing to buy at cost it from the fans who donated, and giving the proceeds to charity. Did the communication from the club explicitly say it would never be aired in public again ?
  24. Its going to make a super song the next time England play Eire. Here for a sing-song You're only here for a sing-song Here for a siiiing-soooong. You're only here for a siiing-soooong....
