And if we dont bring another CM in (which I doubt) rather a lot rides on him settling quick to our game. I duly note Marcotti's comments, and hope he is right; we all know there is more to making an impact at a new club and League than raw talent alone. As someone said a little earlier, the real acid test is what he does out on the field on Saturday (If the Italian FA get their thumbs out of their arses on time).

Nope, you are trying to make it out to be completely one-sided. Not having that. It is my prerogative to be negative about everything that happens to SFC if thats what I think (of course, this is not the case at all in reality). Just as it is NickGs prerogative to spin everything to do with SFC, if he wishes. His approach is every bit as annoying as I understand mine to be. He is as equally dismissive of an opposing opinion as I am accused of being. I have toned down my act MASSIVELY over the last year. Nope, you really dont get it, do you ? By the time we wake up and realise that he wasnt worth the risk, promotion could be beyond us. Hence my comment yesterday that his loan is LOW risk for the club, but HIGH risk for promotion.

I am entitled to express my misgivings and seek debate on it. No-one has written anything of substance to convince me that : 1. There is a high chance of it working out 2. That we can afford to go with this experiment until January without damage to our promotion prospects. You can call that attention-seeking if you wish, but it just demonstrates to me that most of you celebrate a signing for the sake of it and dont have a jack-sh*t clue about how difficult promotion is going to be to achieve.

The only reason I started again on this thread this morning was to point out that I considered my reservations overnight to see if I was being knee-jerk overly negative yesterday and still came up with the same concerns.

I could argue that the reaction on here more suggests that God Forbid anyone should not wet themselves over a signing.

Quite possibly; he's still going to get one wrong at some point.

Even more reason to think he is due to get one wrong.
