  1. What do you suggest then ? Surely professional players have to learn to take the rough and the smooth of support.
  2. Neither are they mutally inclusive.
  3. Thats because you've got the context of the first quote completely wrong. Did you read the exchange leading to it ? I was talking about how AP should stop the hoofball if he wants to. My own personal opinion (the second post) is that I dont care about hoofball, so long as we win. Maybe a bit more thought and intelligence should be put into some of these personal attacks.
  4. I agree with your whole post. Which is which I find APs comments disappointing. If he is rationalising that matches will be more open (winnable) away from SMS, he isnt giving a lot of respect to the tactical nous of the opposition (if a known tactic works against us, why wont the opposing manager use it ?), and not working hard enough to resolve the issue at SMS. We have super, loyal (how loyal can be seen on here in the reaction to criticism), supportive fans who deserve a lot, lot more.
  5. I saw Deppo's point and decided to let is slide- simply because it was ridiculous. The link I was making is clearly the NC / Italy / loan issues. However, he used the term "we", so maybe hes a bit touchy having experienced racial abuse himself, for which I am truly sorry.
  6. Good post. Despite our clear track record of sh*te starts, I think nobody on here deep-down expected this start. This has aggravated doubts about pre-season and our conduct in the transfer market (if we had beaten Plymouth, none of that would have seemed important), and basically led to the impression that we are well on the way to blowing it again.
  7. Or even worse do a Swindon or Plymouth and snatch a winner.
  8. An excellent and informative piece. Thanks for posting. Surely the Wifag story just underlines the fundamental decency of this family.
  9. I managed to watch the Plymouth game on SKy through a dodgy web feed. I have stated this on here before - when I have been unable to see a game, I formulate my opinion about events on feedback from here and various other media describing the events combined. What else can I do ? And I should note at this point, that I have visited the "Just back from the game" threads on here and frequently seen diametrically opposing views from two posters who both claimed to be there. Its happened in the last week; apparently Puncheon was both excellent and sh*t in the Orient game. so attending does not automatically give more validity to ones opinion than non-attendance.
  10. There are two factors to consider - long-term team building to compete at the next level, and what is needed to get to the next level. Your proposal would help with the former, but not the latter. Personally I think our transfer activity should focus on getting out of here, and worry about the rest later. Assuming for one minute that NickG's completely unempirical 500K is the going rate for a player of Antonio's stature and experience, I would have gone up to 750K if I had been NC. Simply because if he helps deliver promotion, we would get that additional investment back in a flash.
  11. You know exactly what I meant. Stop the hoofball.
  12. A tired Lambert still seems to be our main hope of snatching a goal. Poor excuse. As SaintRichmond says, why not just tell the team to stop it ?
  13. The same people said the same things about our transfer activity and they would start worrying if we hadnt addressed the issues by the end of August. Oh..........
  14. 2-0 Rovers.
  15. Isnt that a bit like curing the cancer by killing the patient ?
  16. I dont agree, simply because the evidence of matches at places like Wycombe, Tranmere, Colchester, Brentford and Exeter last season does not support it. The better teams like Norwich, maybe, and it is clear that we can win against teams that try to play against us. But when all our opponents look at us and work out that they can get a result by closed-down negative play, why do we think they wont all employ the same negative tactics ?
  17. Sorry, dont see the difference. Goals determine results, not posession and prettiness of play. I couldnt give a shiny one if AP is endorsing hoofball, so long as it gets results.
  18. Exactly. Excuse-making b*ll*cks.
  19. Surely the pressure would be even worse at the Dell, what with the closer proximity of our fans ? I find APs comments pathetic. It seems to me that the whole team and manager are glass-jawed lightweights if they cannot perform for loyal and supportive fans who cheer them on.
  20. No....stop....STOP. Its much, much better to demonise me. It makes it so much easier to deal with the hollowness and weakness of the excuses for Saints poor start this season by getting really angry at the perceived main messenger of this on this site..
  21. Agree completely.
  22. Well, this suggest Jaidi is now viewed as being over the hill. What does this say about Seaborne ?
  23. Nutshell. Very succinctly put.
  24. Me too, actually EDIT: Are you Kevin Keegan in disguise ?
  25. Tell me how I have killed constructive debate on this thread. I have given my predictions, and explained the reason behind them. Some of you really need to grow up a bit.
