  1. It was discussed at length after City’s disallowed winner against Spurs a few weeks ago. I lie the rule in principle but I think it needs a bit of a tweak. The attacking team should only be penalised if the handball changed the trajectory of the ball. In other words if it brushes against somebody’s arm, the goal stands. If it pings off at 45 degrees, then it’s disallowed. In any case, this isn’t a VAR discussion, it’s a rules of the game discussion.
  2. Why do people talk about 4/5 games as if it’s going to be a whole season? Liverpool are playing well but haven’t really been tested yet. They will have a bad spell like they did last year when they threw away a 7 point lead. An injury to one of their key players and it’s a different story. Likewise City won’t be that bad again.
  3. Why? So long as it's the correct decision I see little reason to complain.
  4. So either Hoj at LB in a 5 or Yosh in a 4.
  5. I’m getting short changed by the Liverpool defenders in my fantasy team this season.
  6. I think his agent is probably just playing tough in the hope we panic and up our offer. I like Hoj but he's not really done enough to get the attention of a top 6 team. Lemina is a better player, when he wants to be, and look how his big move turned out.
  7. With all the turmoil in the boardroom in that period, we always knew he had out best interests in the front of his mind. R.I.P. Leon. 70 is too young these days.
  8. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?60932-England-to-play-Euro-qualifier-at-St-Mary-s-in-September&p=2760271#post2760271 Already discussed in here.
  9. No, you're right. There are plenty of dimwits out there who will believe his side of the story but you'd like to think most would see the bigger picture.
  10. Jesus, have you really got nothing better to do.
  11. 9/11 conspiracy theorists. That was, by a long way, the most appalling thing I’ve ever witnessed and can’t imagine how much worse it must have been for the families of the victims. The last thing you’d want is not to be able to remember and respect them without it being hijacked (pardon the pun) by idiots who think they’re Jason f**king Bourne, with classified inside information on some top secret black opp.
  12. From the outside world; if this match had been at OT and some idiot had turned up in a Liverpool shirt with the intention of causing trouble with the locals, I'd have expected him to be kicked out too.
  13. This must be the highest total goals at SMS since the Sunderland game, I’d have though.
  14. Don’t worry, it’s a complete borefest anyway.
  15. The A27 was pretty slow going either side of the Bursledon roundabout when I drove through about 2.30. Don’t want to think about what it’s like now.
  16. A small part of me does think it would be funny if the away end was half empty and we put out the reserves. I know it wont happen but nothing would hurt more than if we just weren't actually bothered about them any more.
  17. It was Tommy Forecast plus a chunk of cash we needed to keep going. It may seem ridiculous now but we didn't really have a choice.
  18. 2014 was also my first thought when I saw the thread title. We really moved up a gear that summer. I’ll see that and raise you 2007. We p*ssed away a load of money we didn’t have on crap like Euell and Safri when we should have been trying to trim the wage bill. Not only did our actions eventually put us in administration, we also completely ignored the gaping holes in our defence and started the season losing 4-1 at home to a Jamie Scowcroft hat trick. At least 2008 was born out of poverty and necessity, even if they were crap.
  19. Saganowski reminds me a lot of Gabbiadini. There's clearly a decent player in there but it's no coincidence that his form dropped after the team became crap.
  20. Crouch Quashie Fuller Antonio Waigo
  21. Sounds like you need a bit more fibre in your diet.
  22. Never saw Bengali or Colleter play so I can’t really comment. I’ll just put the ones I saw in order (when they played for us) 1. Bridge 2. Bertrand 3. Shaw 4. Bale 5. Le Saux 6. Harding 7. Vignal 8. Targett 9. Fox 10. Brennan 11. Dickson 12. Van Damme 13.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Bernard (I’ve put him out of position somewhere over here)
  23. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-49607292 A bit of a tangent but, here’s some more lefty feminists with their daft, liberal agendas. Honestly, imagine a woman watching football.
  24. Have you seen Lambert recently? Now there’s a sturdy unit.
