We are many that has asked many times and never got an answer.... How was last year transfer window a shambles when a squad was put together that got us to 14th place when 95% of the fans would have bitten anybodys hand off if offered 17th before that season started....and while getting much recognition for the way the team played by not only other teams fans but also quite a few experts/pundits?

According to who, do YOU know who our targets were going into this summer??

Sorry but you complain about not making signings and that the ambition are to high but you would prefer Davis and JWP to play key roles for the team......You say backup but do you really see 2 top CM´s playing 38 games (+eventual cup games) on highest level and never having any injuries? Describe your thoughts on that for me, please...

If you say that Rhodes would succeed in PL because he has a similar/better record in lower leagues than Lambert then you are forgetting the most important detail. Lambert joined us in League One, he had been part of the team for 3 years before he played his first season in PL. He knew his strengths in the team and the team knew his strengths and we played a type of game that are using his strengths and it´s a team that has played together for a few years when you look at the core of the team. This is why many players that have good records in lower leagues often struggle when they are moving to another team that plays in the PL. That team dont know how to use these players and the players themself is not used to that teams way of playing. I doubt that Rickie would have been a success if he was signed by a PL team when he was at Bristol Rovers, but because he was in a team that together got promoted up into the PL he was a big part of a team that knew how to play to their strengths together and therefore he could excel....

And 75% of those are in the great league called.....*drumroll*....League One..... And btw, the Brazilian League is much better than people on here understand. It wasn´t like Neymar could do anything he wanted in that league and still he was superior in Confed Cup....

I think I hate (well not hate but dislike) some people in football more than clubs actually...

So now Rhodes are quality to be close to the Brazilian national team.....

A famous man on this forum once said (well said it a few more timesactually) that "you cant make that up"... But unfortunately that´s not true. The WUM´s really CAN make things up......well if it suits their opinions they probably have to though....

So more signings equal better? Sunderland has lost their bestplayer from last year in Mignolet. Altidore is dead average if even that ,Giaccherini and Cabral are the only ones I rate of those coming in. Norwich has done well, still think they have a manager that is too defensive-minded. Dont think our business is worst than theirs considering squads you have and where you need to strengthen it... Swansea keep on doing fine business but are in a different place than us this year cause they can offer European games so not really comparable....

Ok, so what players of those who are signed in these teams impress you and who you would have liked us to have? For me. Norwich, perhaps Ricky v W, but I´m not that certain he will be a hit. Sunderland, Giaccherini the only one. Swansea, Bony. You will find the odd good signing in ALL teams when you summarize a transfer window in the summer, doesn´t really mean that they would have worked out for us or that those are players that we even would be interested in.

No, you´re the fool if you think ANY club considers making moves for players just because of a few so called winnable games and not thinking longterm when most players these days will be signed for 3-5 years. Every season has 38 games in the league, you dont make decisions because of what opponents you have in the first 3 games...

I know but maybe one day.....not that it will be today though probably...

You do know that Jordi Amat was deemed not good enough for Espanyol a year ago and went ouyt on loan to Rayo Vallecano?? If MP didn´t think he was good enough for Espanyol, why would he go in for him now?? Our CB targets this summer were probably Lovren or Astori and we got on of those. You cant bring in how many players you want cause you have other on contracts. Simple footballing business.

I am most curious about from what angle Bazza will try to criticise Cortese next week and trying it to not look like criticism.........

Of course they can have games behind locked doors but still odd for me. So many new players would benefit from playing more games together imo. Edit: Found some info now on a forum that they are playing Braga and Sporting Lissabon this week, 5th and 7th August. Most teams playing other teams of questionable quality uptil the last game of preseason so games next weekend could be more interesting to look at regarding to results. So far Liverpool and Swansea stand out but neither has really played any good teams. (Well Swansea won 3-0 away at Reading so that´s a decent resut I guess) Swansea also getting some early competitive games in Europa League Qualifiers that they will benefit from imo.

If we as a team can better last year total with 10% that gives us 54-55 goals which will go a long way this season cause I cant see us concede as many this year. So that´s the aim I should be looking at....
