You can be my friend on Facebook, Bearsy... Just don't get too distracted by all the bikini photos!
-
Hmm, most of my friends are in their 30s. Unless you like older women?
-
1. Done. 2. Will do. 3. How old are you? I have a lot of very smart and attractive single friends. This can be arranged.
-
I did! I think I need to read it again, as at the time it was a blur as I read it in between Jeff and Hypo posts, and I got confused by what was annoying and what was funny. I'll try again!
-
Oh no, not the sad face, faraway Sorry!! What can I do to make a happy face? (Anything but go back to the Lounge).
-
I thought you were an Bear, not a man? I'm coming running to you because I thought you were all soft and cuddly.
-
Please do a review of something, or a joke, or rude pics - anything that will be a distraction from the never ending, mindless responses on the sexism threads on the Lounge. I can't take it anymore!
-
I thought you were answering for yourself, not Jeff...
-
Exactly. I've got reason to feel vulnerable. You haven't.
-
Have you got some numbers on this?
-
And how does it make you feel when you see that image? Because when I'm stood next to an image of a women dressed in her underwear, at night, I'm not getting on my moral ground here, I actually feeling quite vulnerable. To the point I feel I should move.

Not to me he's not.

I'm not taking it personally Hypo. I'm just responding to your posts. I think you've probably got a bit of an old-school take on what 'feminism' stands for. My generation's version is about equality, that's all I care about. I guess we can be a bit softer with it (less of the aggressive stuff from our previous generation) because the really outrageous stuff they were fighting against, isn't so acceptable these days (though it still happens). But it's still there behind the scenes, on the quiet. And sometimes not so behind the scenes. Sometimes it's on film, it's upfront and aggressive, yet still people defend it...(it's a one off! it's banter!) So when I say I'm feminist. What I'm saying is, I've got a right to be treated equally. As have all the other women around me. Not patronised. Not excluded. Not paid less. Not told I'm less talented. Not told what I must like. Not told I'm a slag. Not shouted at by random strangers. Not told I can't do something. Not get that disgusting sucking noise when I walk pass cars at traffic lights, not have to stand at a bus stop at night next to an advert with a woman in her underwear. All that stuff and more. I don't think it's much to ask. I can't imagine ever treating a man that way.

Dear me. Thanks for posting BTF.
-
I'm happy to have given Hypo my time this one day, as long as he leaves me alone the other 364 days.
-
Actually, I didn't disagree with anything. I chose to not respond. Partly because it was a random statement thrown into the topic. Partly because a anonymous bloke on a football forum telling me what my primary purpose is, grossed me out (!), and partly because I don't want to waste my time responding to someone who is making endless pointless statements, then insisting people respond to them (needy) or equating feminism (ie equality between men and women) with one person (which is a bit daft). That said, I'm digging SaintAndy's responses!
-
I'm not running away. I'm just lost any sense of respect for you when you said feminists are the worst kind of people. And because I lost respect, it made the effort involved in responding to your antiquated meanderings, not worth the effort I was putting in. All on a thread about International Women's Day! Even you must see the irony in that!
-
LOL. Robot sperm, and vibrators...
-
Really? I've not noticed! Where?
-
Doesn't look like I'm going to need you anymore to save the world, Bearsy!
-
I'm sorry Hypo, I can't take any of your posts seriously anymore! I'm laughing too much! Sorry!! The irony is too much!!!
-
Primary function. Hmm. Now I really know what we're dealing with. Have babies, and take abuse from mobs shouting at you to get your tits out. All makes a lot of sense now. Happy International Women's Day everyone!
-
As are most of the men. Really unfunny. Women just get less of a crack at it.
-
But, I thought women weren't funny?! Oh dear, this really is all too confusing for my pretty little head. I need to go relax and do some ironing.
-
So you're in agreement all along? Great!
