  1. Why not answer the question concerning your gaining the empirical evidence that Lighthouse has a goldfish, and that therefore your belief in the possibilty is supplanted by your newly acquired knowledge of it's existence. At this point your assertion that knowledge is a subset of belief is disproved.
  2. And if you go to his house and see his goldfish ? You are doing an excellent job of ignoring those bits of questions that might serve to prove you are misguided.
  3. I think you Googled Platonic philosophy and found someting to try to hang your misguided argument on. From the starting point that you may, or may not, believe that Lighthouse has a pet goldfish, if you go to his house and see that he does indeed have a goldfish you then know that, and no longer merely believe it. This knowledge is not an intrinsic part of your prior belief, it supplants it.
  4. As LD would put it, pony ! Knowledge is based on experience and evidential proof, belief exists without.

"THE chief scientific adviser under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown has said he cannot recall a Cobra meeting which was not attended by the prime minister of the time." https://www.thenational.scot/news/18390278.michael-goves-cobra-meetings-claims-rubbished-ex-scientific-adviser/
  7. It isn't just the negotions for an FTA. Businesses will have expected the run up to December 31st to be when they worked out and implemented their processes for the final transition away from integration with the EU. I wouldn't think there's much of that going on at present.
  8. Everton didn't turn up.
  9. Option 1; leave on 31st Dec on WTO terms Option 2; leave on 31st Dec with an FTA Option 3; extend the TP due to the current pandemic in order to ensure an FTA can be agreed, thus avoiding WTO
  10. I accept it is an aspiration, Wes doesn't seem to ; " It is that now we are out of the EU, we are able to pick and choose who we allow to come and work here, and for how long."
  11. Hasn't the Government said it wants to "switch the economy away from a reliance on cheap labour from Europe" ?
  12. Pray, do enlighten me as to what my 'side' is thinking. Perhaps opinion on the status, progress, and options is not a binary choice.

  14. Whilst I accept that in all likelihood there will not be an extension, which might lead to a worst case scenario of WTO, it is too early to definitively rule it out. On top of that, your post is packed with speculation, wishful thinking, and longing for unicorns.
  15. Plenty of time yet.
  16. Let alone the way the books of the Bible were selected, edited, and assenbled.
  17. Producing 'guidelines' but no timetable. And after Germany, Austria, Italy, Denmark, Spain, and Poland had already announced a partial easing of their restrictions.

Go out and try it. See how Avon and Somerset Constabulary are interpreting the memo.
  21. Liverpool haven't yet won the Premier League.

We have previously been told by Michael Gove that an hour's walk is the permitted level of exercise. Now it seems that the Police have been advised by internal memo that travelling to somewhere with the intention of exercising should be such that more time is spent exercising than driving, ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-52312560 ). So, even if you go for a 2 hour walk, ( who ever really paid attention to Gove ? ), you shouldn't really be driving for more than an hour.

How far is acceptable ? From Southampton to Ringwood ? Brockenhurst ? Lyndhurst ? Bournemouth ? Assumng it is OK for one family, is it OK for ten, a hundred, five hundred ? Who decides which ones are permitted ? At what point do Social Distancing and 'stay at home' become futile propositions ?
