Sky Sources: New 5 Year Contract offered to Jay Rodriguez
Batman replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
How long before this new contract is not signed before we realise he wants out too... Be a shame -
Well, we are clearly not. It's ok to admit that too. You can be a saints supporter and know we are not the greatest team in the world. We are a decent premier league side that is at a large cross roads this summer Being a "true saint" is not keeping Lallana and not stopping lovren from wanting out
-
IMO, what held us back was the reliance on 14-15 players. Outside of that, we were very short Fox, hooiveld, gazza and then Gallagher should be no where near starting for a top half prem side. SG has time on his hands but he was very raw last season
-
Plan b does not mean just punt it long. It was dropping lambert deeper, putting jrod up on his own as the central striker Not setting the pressing trap at times We did have a plan b. Just that fans only equate that to "whacking it up to the big man"

Viking. Spurs are miles bigger than us. Hence why he has gone and others before him
-
sounds like this chap is also useless
-
might as well have kept fox, if that is the case
-
thing is it will probably be walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen and a new left back if those are his squad players, hell of a great deal better than fox and hooiveld to come in
-
did he make it £50 a throw?
-
ok then

an Agent from a UK based, large sports agency. Who represent numerous top flight players (and clubs) has been on the radio talking about transfers. said the middle 3rd of the summer window is always slow and expects it to remain so until the last 2 weeks in august. He also said that people would be idiots to sign someone just off the back of form in a world cup IF they have been average at their clubs. Chances are, they will go back to being average Interestingly, more players than publicised want out of Southampton. He represents one of them (but would not give his name) Also said that newcastle seem to do well in France and could well have done so again. West ham have done some good business Chelsea have come out and said they have finished buying players yet they are still chasing players behind the scenes TO BUY this window basically, eveything that comes out of clubs this time of year is mostly spin and they position themselves for the best bit of PR for players in/out
-
my point was that we let go tried and tested premier league (and england) players and have rolled the dice. we have to roll the dice, I get that. But to even think about letting 2 more star players go after letting 3 already is madness
-
the list would look a great deal better with lambert, lallana and shaw as for the two new additions. Lets see if they dont fail on the pitch like osvaldo first
-
well, we have lost two players from the premier league team of the year and still down on squad numbers (3 out, 2 in) I know we like to be positive but I dont think it is unreasonable to say the squad RIGHT NOW is not as good as the one at the final whistle against united a few months back....it is for sure lower on numbers of senior players
-
well, all very quiet. still short on squad numbers and more so, quality
-
when NC left, all this non fan friendly stuff was going to stop. its all his fault
-
yeah, and osvaldo was going to score us to top 6
-
are you saying players from sub-saharan africa are known for their technical ability as those from south america?
-
are his parents irish? its obvious what PP means without calling him a racist Players who are, shall we say the build of Lukaku are far more physical than technical type of players
-
I wonder who will score the most this season. Pelle or Lambert also, people are talking as if Tadic is at least as good as lallana so, team of the season for him then, no problem
-
to be fair. its always us (on here) who played badly when we lose to a lesser side
-
that squad will struggle when the usual injuries/suspensions and loss of form to come in we got 8th and out of the cups early with a far better squad of players than that. and we were very lucky with injuries to lambert/lallana/shaw/morgan for MOST part of the season
