Alan Shearer. He tells it how it is. He was so 'on the fence' and boring when he first started. Chris Sutton is also a breath of fresh air and won't hold back. Graeme Souness, Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville. Jermaine Jennas speaks well, a bit wet though, as Danny Murphy. Phil Neville good (better than his commentating!). Mark Lawrenson, sorry mate, you are well past date and your irritating 'sniffs' when you think you have made a funny remark.

Good Luck Mr Adkins you took us on a fantastic ride when you were here.

That was my first FA. Cup match . Think Frank Saul scored in both matches. Still got signed photos from the replay in my scrapbook!

Bournemouth away to win this time!
-
Elaborate or not?
-
Gutted. Brilliant performance.

Oh dear! Want to come back to Southampton? No thanks, we've got PEH!

My worry is the Club is losing its identity with the new Chinese owners. When Markus Liebherr bought the Club from the start he had a true identity with the fans, alas, when he sadly passed away, Cortese took over and distanced himself from not only from the fans but the history of Southampton Football Club. When Katharina came in she identified, like her father Markus, the identity with the fans (you will know this Fitz, as you have met her). That's why, I believe, she still wanted part ownership (20%) of the Club. So what of Mr Gao? He's attended the match against Man. Unt. What are his intentions? What are the futures of Ralph Krueger and Les Reed? The fans will be the last to know.
-
Now the owner of 80% of Southampton Football Club would you prepared to make a statement with your investment? What are the plans for Katharina, Krueger and Reed? You have now trusted your investment for these people to run the Club. Are these people part of you plans? From the takeover and with recent bad results, we have had not any communication whatsoever. You need to identity yourself with the the Club. We are supporters. Not customers. Where are you??

Would you make a change now and bring in Alex McCarthy? Bearing in mind the tough matches we have coming up. A difficult one. Just feel that Fraser has lost all confidence and scared. The supporters 'cheering' when he receives the ball doesn't help and surely he and David Watson can hear this. If Alex came in he would have the supporters a massive support. Once in, he would want to make a big impression. Or is that Fraser signed a five year deal and the Club want to save face?
-
Fernando Torres apparently looking for loan deal to a Premier League Club in January. We couldn't score goals last season, we can't score goals this season. If we don't sign a proven goalscorer in January I feel we will struggle to remain in the Premier League.

That was a gutless display. Shocking. Do we actually want to score a goal?

Just read an article in Backpass magazine. (football magazine reporting on retro football). John Mortimore who was assistant manager to Ted Bates and later became Club President at Southampton Football Club. Went on to manage Portsmouth and Benfica. While at at Portsmouth he caught the players in their rooms drinking on a Friday night before a match the next day. Mortimore asked "how long has this been going on for"? They replied, "quite a few years".

Loved Hugh Fisher. He's till goes to St Mary's occasionally. Lives in Bishops Waltham I believe. Always likes being recognised and has time to speak. A true gentleman. And of course by your user name, the last minute goal at The Dell in the third round of the FA Cup against Aston Villa to make it a 2-2 draw. Which we went on to win the replay and go on to win the F.A. Cup.

Saying his move to Man Unt was too soon for him and saying his style never suited Man Unt as they play with wing backs but Shaw was not a natural wing back. Also criticises his attitude and his mindset when he was with Saints. It's been over three years since his move to Man Unt and only made 30 odd appearances for them. Ah well, £30,000000 ain't bad then is it?
-
We never signed McLaren until the following season when Campbell Forsyth broke his leg on November.
-
Brilliant response. Yes I can remember that bald headed midfield player being booed because after all the midfield play towards the goal he would never shoot at the goal. Mmmmm...yeh know the feeling!
-
Who can remember him? Saints and Brighton. Best known for taking Brighton to the FA Cup Final in 1983 when "Smith must score"! He wore white shoes to the Cup Final, was an helicopter involved? After being born in Liverpool and played 269 times for them and played twice for England. Transferred to Wolves and played only 24 games when Ted Bates bought him to Southampton for £30000. Jimmy played 139 games for Saints and for what I can remember was very often booed for playing too many square balls. After we got promoted to Division One he left and went Aldershot and played 135 games. He was a staunch Catholic as I was, he always attended the village hall in Fair Oak on a Sunday morning for mass.

Was that Koeman trying to get back in?
-
I don't think he will play for Liverpool again. I don't think he will manage Everton again.
-
Tadic? What was that dive all about? He should have been booked for cheating. I seriously don't think he merits to be in the starting eleven. All these hand waving gestures are so pitiful.
-
That's why we paid 16 million for him!!!
