I think ABK would be excellent in this division but he won’t be here… surely?
-
Not that shit keeper thankfully.

Nyland signed with Championship club Bournemouth on a free transfer on 17 August 2021.[29] A week later, he made his debut for the club in the second round of the EFL Cup against former club Norwich City, conceding six goals in the process as the Cherries fell to a 0–6 defeat.[30] On 31st January 2022, Bournemouth and Nyland agreed to terminate his contract but he remained at the Cherries to train to assist with his injury recovery. Should fit in nicely.

New keeping coming. Medical booked. Ex Liepzig but free agent. According to Twitter. SO IM READY TO BE SHUT DOWN.
-
I seem to remember this is a forum and a transfer window section - was just passing on a rumour I heard. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut!
-
As is your prerogative, sir.
-
Just spoke with a mate who works for a sports agency - said he overheard someone talking about JWP "He hasn't travelled, the deal is done" Make of that what you will.
-
No way we're turning down £30m for JWP - surely? If we manage to get £80m + for Lavia and JWP and the £20m from the sales of DCC and Salisu then we'll have made £100m already and I think with KWP and Tino both destined for moves away then we could quite comfortably recoup £150m in sales. If we recruit well then we could feasibly spend £50m in the championship which would be a huge amount - £18m on Piroe for example and keep £100m in the coffers if all goes to shit and we need to splurge in Jan.

I think Tella has gone / is going. Burnley have done a load of creative content for their announcements this season and I think this Free Tella thing that their Chairman has just done is part of it. Otherwise it's fucking cringe.
-
I think the reality is that we would have always been happy with £45m for RL. If we'd come out and set our stall out at £45m then we'd be at £40m now - we want the scousers to think they're getting a deal but £45m for a lad with one season under his belt is decent money any way you look at it. It sets the standard for the rest of the window, we're not to be bullied, we set our fees and whilst there is room for negotiation we don't *need* to sell. (Reality is we do need to sell if we want new blood in)

A few conversations I've had. Could be well wrong but have a feeling he might be here for a little longer.
-
I think Sulemana might stay...
-
Tella move is close according to Alan Nixon... Seems like a big mistake that.
-
Nothing has changed unfortunately, JWP still off. If WHU are at £25m - we know it'll end up at £30m + £5m add ons. Fact of the matter is, he is a saleable asset and he wants the move. He wants to play PL football and you can't blame him for that.
-
Sulemana off. Shame that. Thought he would stay..
-
Nobody is disputing this. Fact is the level has dropped now we’re in the championship and Bree who was a standout in that league will be decent enough for us. Everyone has a price and fair play to the club for holding out for the fee they deemed fair. Don’t get me wrong, wanted to keep Tino but not the most important player we keep. Someone such as Alcarez is much more important
-
Is there any actual truth in the Mason Holgate rumour?
-
It’s not happening. Off to Braga. Think it would have been good for the squad to have a leader like that, oh well!
-
I don't know anything else, I don't know why / where so don't want to speculate. Just passing on what I've heard but as I said, I'd like to be proved wrong. I'm sure he loves the club but wants to be playing in the PL. He could give us a year but then if we don't go up he'll be the best part of 30 years old and perhaps he's worried / advised that would make a move more complicated. Best to secure a move now and for my money, it stinks of West Ham.
-
Sorry, didn't mean to submit so quickly. I thought (hoped) last week that he would stay but I'm now led to believe that he is going - not a confirmed destination but he will be leaving and won't be a Saints player next season. I would of course LOVE to be proved wrong.
-
I know, I am now.
-
I agree with you, I think the club has to sell to buy but the mistake we've made in the past is letting every man, woman and child know that. Saying this is what it is (price wise) will work if we let on there is some room for negotiation, it doesn't work if we're completely steadfast in our approach and buying clubs move on to other targets. That being said, if it means we ended up on Sept 2nd with a few extra players in the JWP / KWP camp then perhaps it works out. "Sorry lads, we were keen to sell but the money wasn't right, get your heads down and we can relook at this in Jan"
-
I absolutely think JWP will be going - he wants to play PL football, can't blame him. According to Blackmore with the old board he was told he could leave if so called big clubs come in for him and is prepared to pay our valuation. If the rumours of Fulham etc are true and the figure is circa £25m. Do we still cash in or as club do they decide to say it doesn't matter what the old board said, you've X amount of years on your contract, we're keeping you. Or do you think it all depends on who else we've managed to shift? I think as a PR story - *if* somehow JWP is playing for Southampton next season then it'll filter that positivity throughout the club and fanbase that he has 'bought into the new manager and long term strategy' (We'd obviously all know that it's because nobody came in for him but we'll gloss over that)
