I honestly think any manager would do a better job at the moment. Normally they all pipe up once the ball is rolling on a rumour. I'm probably getting my hopes up but could the club have briefed them to not leak the story / details to stop other clubs pushing the button on sanctioning a bid? Wishful thinking I'm sure but it certainly seems our bridges have been a little burnt this window with other clubs coming in late and gazumping us. Just a thought!

I have a feeling things might be a little better than we think behind closed doors. I think the general spin coming out of the normal avenues such as the athletic is exactly that.. spin. In case these deals fall through (which can happen of course) then the spin was that we were prepared for this eventuality and it’s of no bother. However the reality is that there is much activity and tbf to the board I don’t think it’s as simple as pay the money and get them in Jan 1st as we’re not that attractive a proposition right now. I’m in no way a happy clappy spokesperson for the board - I’m as effed off with them as the next person but I can’t let myself think they’re sitting there thinking we can ‘make do’ with what we have.

I have a feeling that we're keeping Ings as our plan b. We want to sign one of these younger strikers eg Beto / Moffi but we're most likely going to be priced out - we'll then move to Ings. Loan with an obligation to buy with some relegation caveats etc. I'm not ITK - just heard from a mate who knows people that we're over a barrel due to everyone knowing our desperate need for a striker - the price goes up.

I actually think they might sack him. It’s not just the results it’s the passive aggressive ‘it’s not me its you’ SR need to plan for a quick return to the PL and to do that you need some momentum not solid steel sinking ship which is what we are and will continue to be so with this prick at the helm. Money rules the footballing world - what would they rather lose, cash or lose face? Time to suck it up lads, relieve him of his duties and if that means we can buy one less player because of the compo then so be it.
