  1. All I'm gonna say I'd that I sincerely hope that these are original ones. Simply beautiful (both of them)... Now, if that could be followed with the same beauty on the pitch as well, instead of that slumbering performance last season, everything would be perfect. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
  2. Jokanovic shouldn't be overlooked. Excellent no frills coach, squeezes out maximum potential from the squad. Although, if Fulham goes up, I doubt that he would jump the boat and join Southampton. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
  3. Although I was really interested what CP was gonna say on the press conference, and I've even plugged in earphones trying to decipher some of the statements, but after a while I simply gave up. Don't get me wrong, I'm multilingual as well, and English is my second language, so I do have a sincere appreciation for his efforts, however I really don't understand why he bothers (at least at this stage), after all there is a translator present... 4. Just wanted to use this post as a starting point, especially in regards the quality of our current midfield set up. Although I'm not too thrilled with overall current teams performance (admittedly it's still early stages of the new season) and I'm not biggest fan of the new "diamond" tactics, I still think that our current midfield (Romeu, Hojbjerg, Clasie, Davies, JWP (with the emphasis on the first three)) stacks up better than our previous seasons line ups. Personally, I think that VW influence and performance has been overrated, as his impact was fairly straight forward without too much upside apart from known values. In other words, with a right set up and tactics (I don't believe that we are that strong, to be too rigid in tactical approach to the match, depending on the opponents we are facing on the day we should adjust our rotation and set up accordingly) we should be able to achieve same or the better performance from our midfielders, compared to previous seasons. Admittedly, we are still a couple players short in other areas, but those deficiencies can still be rectified. In other words, it's not all doom and gloom, however it's still depends on the CP to properly utilise our current roster and add more strength in certain areas, by looking into bringing more players before the end of transfer deadline. 5. Although second half versus Watford was slightly better than the performance vs Athletico Bilbao and first half of the same match, I think that right now we should focus on fighting fire with fire on Old Trafford... Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
  6. First time on St Mary's, made an effort from Down Under to see Saints play... Nice weather... At this stage, I wouldn't comment too much about the style of play, but I've seen better... Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
  7. No, I'm not. I've already explained it in the first post. As a matter of fact, United is one of the clubs in EPL that I like the least. However, being roughly the same age as Giggs, I was following his career from his debut on European matches for United, and ever since then I've been closely following his career. Wouldn't even call myself a fan of Giggs as such, it's only that I'm trying to think of other options (apart from the couple of names that are mentioned in the press, and here). 8. Although I do agree with you guys that he's "unknown quality" (if there is a quality at all) at the managerial level, I sincerely doubt that he would start his career in League 1/2. After all, Frank De Boer's managerial career (up to now) is a good pointer that you don't necessarily need to go down the ranks to learn the ropes.. After all, couple of years as a youth coach in Ajax or assistant manager in Manchester United, working alongside some of the best coaches in the trade (regardless of the results on the day) is a priceless learning curve, that beats learning the trade in League 2. 9. Hi guys, this is my first post, so please don't burn me... ☺️I've been lurking on the board for a while, and although I don't have any connection with Southampton or UK as such, I've been closely following English football since late 80's... Never had a club that I really supported until couple of years ago, when Southampton continuous rise from the ashes really made me appreciate them. Anyway, enough about me, what I was wondering is what do you guys think about possibility (although it might be highly unlikely) of Ryan Giggs taking over managerial role at Saints? After all, with Mourihno in charge, he's more than likely to leave Manchester United, and although he might not be proven in the role, I don't think that it would be too hard for him to adjust to it. Anyway, just curious what do you guys think about it... Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
