  1. You're right, Communists, Socialists and Marxists are different. You may not be aware that the transformation of society into Socialism, and ultimately to Communism is the philosophy of Marxism. While I'm fishing, trade unions in this country, with whom Capitalist train companies have to deal, are by and large Marxist constructs. Rather like Capitalist countries like Ukraine having to deal with Russia. Trade Unions have done more damage to the "working class" in this country than any other organisation. So much so that the "working class" no longer exist. Just look at Southampton. Pirelli, Vospers, Ford and many other manufacturers forced out, when global capitalism meets parochial Marxist unions, leading the sheep to the slaughterhouse. What is left is bitterness and class envy against those that embraced the opportunities that capitalism and democracy offer, rather than treat such circumstances as lessons to learn.
  2. Oooh look, here's Eddie Dempsey, Assistant General secretary of the RMT, with pro-Russian separatist Alexander Mozgovoy, in 2015. I guess he sent a nice bunch of flowers to his funeral, after the Ukrainians took him out, and a condolence card to Putin.
  3. I'm not surprised the lefties on here are jumping up and down and frothing at the mouth. We've seen it all before, here in Southampton. Efficiency and capitalism trumps a dogmatic and Marxist union's inflexibility, then they get bitten in the arse by the economic realities and an owner who gets fed up pissing £100m a year down the drain. The RMT hardly garnered public support for their workers on the London underground recently, spreading misery and inconvenience among pandemic weary commuters, so they've had this coming. Welcome to the real world, where we all can see what happens when communists try and dictate. I'm just thankful Mick Lynch and his rabble aren't armed. The sooner we have robots driving the Underground trains and cheap foreign labour crewing P & O ships the better for everyone. ...and blaming Brexit. Even for the pea brained Remainers, that's a stretch.
  4. Since when has a "reasonable guess" been a "wild stab in the dark"? What isn't a "wild stab in the dark" is that Putin invaded Ukraine during Biden's presidency, just after his surrender to the Taliban. Still, you stick with your socialist agenda, one that Putin has permanently killed, along with net zero carbon, appeasement and all the rest of the woke bollox. Great to see the clueless lefties squirm, while their third rate class warriors are destroyed with most of Ukraine. Thankfully, Blair is one of the latest, following on from Corbyn, et al.
  5. So, in preparation for WWIII, it occurred to me that with Mad Vlad going Tonto, things could get pretty nuclear in the next few weeks. In order to prepare fully for this, I got out my old UK nuclear target map, below. As you can see, Southampton and Portsmouth are pretty well screwed, but on closer observation, it appears that Brighton looks like it may escape the inferno. Given that we play them at the AMEX on the 23rd April, I think I might mosey on down there a bit early, just in case NATO push their luck. Obviously in the event of a nuclear war, the Premier League will want to fulfil as many fixtures as possible, so the conflagration may mean us playing away for the rest of our home games. At least we will be spared playing at Fratton. Post war, I think the IoW might be a nice place to stay, until the radiation levels reach a simmering rather than roasting level. Still, let's hope it doesn't come to this. I mean, have you spent any time in the IoW?

  7. You have to the remember that Southampton has historically been a socialist, bordering on a Stalinist, state. This was a consequence of the unions iron grip on the docks and the generations of hypocritical dockers and their spawn, that suckled on the teats of the fat cow, that was Southampton docks, until containerisation turned the consequent unemployed labour force and their children into bitter, Tory hating, envy ridden socialists. Luckily for them the burgeoning public sector, largely financed by tax paying Tories and recalcitrant socialists, turned capitalists, gave them well paid jobs, from which they could continue to bite the hands that feed them. Keep posting, mate and you'll be able to taste the bitter envy that is Southampton. It is only bewildering to those that didn't grow up here in the 60's and 70's. Forget the stereotypes about lazy, rich Tories. The laziest and richest friends I had growing up, were all stevedores; union men and communists, the lot of them.
  8. So finally my thread has been justified by todays news and Putin has shown the socialist pussies on this site how wrong they were and Trump and I were right: I hate to be so right. Don't get me started on Zero Carbon, though. Shame Boris got indoctrinated by a cult promoted by his latest wife. Trump saw it for what it was. Right about NATO cheapskates like Germany and Merkel's big mistake with Nord Stream 2 as well. I miss him.
  9. Either this is a sick joke, or you do not have a scooby about the point made in the initial post. Any person being appointed to such a post as Police Commissioner of the Met should be competent to carry out their responsibilities, regardless of race, religion or sexual preference. It was obvious to me that Dick was appointed to the position, as a box ticking exercise, because her record prior to the appointment was lamentable. She was the Gold Commander who authorised officers to continue pursuit and surveillance, and ordered that Jean Charles de Menezes be prevented from entering the Tube system. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) launched two investigations. Stockwell 1, the findings of which were initially kept secret, concluded that none of the officers would face disciplinary charges. Stockwell 2 strongly criticised the police command structure and communications to the public. Stockwell 2 was the reason she should never have been given the job and subsequent events under her command reinforced the views in the opening post. De Menezes and his family were the first victims of her incompetence. Sarah Everard and her family were the last. She got the job because she was female and LGBT, not because she was up to the job. Hopefully we'll get a gay/straight/white/black/man/woman who will has the balls (or not) to ensure the Met is completely re-organised.

  11. Doomsday predictions of a post-Brexit collapse in trade have “failed to materialise” according to a leading Westminster think tank. A report by the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (Niesr) said there had been a “significant improvement” in the UK’s net trade performance with the EU since the referendum nearly six years ago. " and "Mr Mortimer-Lee said the UK should eventually reach a “stable” trade deficit with the EU, with the net difference between exports and imports likely to settle at a third of its pre-referendum levels. " Isn't it great to be on the right side of history, brexiteers?
  12. The never ending story: Still, at least Cressida didn't let her officers break lockdown.
  13. The difference is that, in addition to fear about the very unlikely event of a "climate catastrophe", the global elite are using scare tactics, to make us pay for "net zero", as if a futile attempt to maintain an atmospheric CO2 concentration of 0.04% is going to limit any future global temperature change. The zero carbon bill to the population will be trillions for those that can least afford it. They're going to have to prise my big f**k off petrol Range Rover, log burner and gas boiler out of my large, uninsulated house. I refuse to join the carbon cult, because it is all bollox (in my scientific opinion).
  14. Here's another extract, girls, from the old Guardian article, summarising the Pentagon experts opinion, none of you will read: I know it was a bit parky last night at St. Marys, but hardly Siberia. Still, I've cancelled an upcoming trip to Holland.
  15. The "News" summary was lifted from a Guardian piece about 17 years ago. I edited the summary, so that rather than 2040 being the date the "climate" emergency was supposed to hit, the article actually predicted the disaster was going to happen in 2020. So funny to read the comments from the usual gormless suspects who couldn't be asked to click the link and read the actual article. Suckers...
  16. We're in the shit, lads. Just when we're escaping the pandemic, the reality of climate change is coming home. The report is reported in the Guardian, here. In summary:
  17. Read it and weep. It'll be interesting to see the leftie woke crowd on this forum dare to defend Dick now. She must have something on Priti Patel and the rest.
  18. Keep up you losers. Read this and learn:
  19. Europe's financial centres have given up hope of triggering an exodus of companies and jobs away from London in the wake of Brexit. The head of Luxembourg's government finance agency said relocations from the City are “basically over” with London’s crown as Europe’s financial services capital intact. Nicolas Mackel, chief executive of Luxembourg for Finance, said: “It's obvious London is and will remain Europe's most important financial services industry." Must be very upsetting for the anti-capitalist losers, I mean leavers, on this site.
  20. Royal Dutch Shell today has unveiled plans to move its headquarters from the Netherlands to the UK. Shell are following Unilever, whose HQ, for decades was split between London and Rotterdam are now based in just London. The Dutch government is 'unpleasantly surprised' by Shell HQ move to Britain 😂 Another Brexit dividend, lads.
  21. Some background may be worth providing, in terms of what informs me on mental health and then you guys can chose to play the victim game, while actually doing nothing practical to help anyone, apart from having your mutual bullsh!t session. You see, if someone is anxious or depressed, which is a normal part of life, the long term solution can only come from self awareness and a willingness to make a positive change to cope with the depression or anxiety. A quick bit of advice for sog, despite him calling me an asshole. It is obvious that this particular poster is content with his mental state defining him, rather than him defining his mental state. How do I know this? Well, 15 years ago he joined this forum and chose to call himself sad old git. My advice is change your fucking screen name to "trying to be happier, age is just a number, guy". While you're doing that, FFS pony up a £5 a year to support this forum. You're just like the miserable guy in the corner of the pub who always expects people to buy him a pint, without buying a drink in return. Pretty quickly the other regulars get pissed off with you sucking the oxygen out of the room. That is the last bit of free advice I will give him, because, as my dear old Dad used to say, some people are only happy when they're miserable. To the rest of you, here's just part of my experience of mental health. My cousin, a beautiful young woman, developed mental illness after an arsonist set fire to her home, followed by her father, my uncle, passing away. She was in treatment, but the drugs failed to work and she was further treated with electro-convulsive therapy and then committed. When I found out she was ill, and it was obvious the medication and ECT hadn't worked, I invited her to stay with me for a couple weeks. We went for walks with the dog, talked about old times and I did everything I could to pick her spirits up. She returned home apparently in good spirits. and when she later found out I was seriously ill in hospital, she sent a lovely letter, in spidery handwriting and from "the looney bin" , thanking me for the holiday and wishing me well. I got out of hospital, returned home to find out that while I was in hospital, she had thrown herself off a cliff. I remember her funeral, hugging her daughter, the wildflowers that were picked to decorate her coffin and the dignity her mother and sister showed, during and after the service. That's all (too much) from me and now I've spilled my guts, stop calling me a callous asshole. Actually, I don't care what you call me, if it makes you happier. You all fill your boots.
