Yeah, right. So Airbus is worried about the UK being out of the single market. I think what they mean is the UK being out of their single "illegally state subsidised" market. They have more to worry about from the US and WTO than whether we are in their grubby club...

I just love the buttons that are pushed to get Trump demonised. Children separated from parents shock-horror. Yet, I'm looking closely at the press and since the Independent published, back in 2017, this article regarding the record number of children in the UK being placed in care, I don't see much for the UK to feel superior about. So, there are about 65 children separated from their law breaking parents, daily, in the Southern states of the US. The UK beats that, with 90 children being placed in care, every day. The reasons for this are often down to poverty, homelessness and substance abuse. I'm trying to think of a scapegoat, but the hard truth is that these children in the US, are placed in this position by their parents, not Donald Trump. Still, it's easier to blame a government, with accompanying tragic news footage. Saves a foreign government like Mexico taking the responsibility for the poverty and homelessness their citizens face (and plenty of substance abuse, no doubt). It also helps score cheap political points, rather than face up to the social issues, namely parental responsibility, that lead to these terrible and tragic situations. I would never suggest that Mexico may be creating this situation on the back of threatened trade tariffs, but it makes you think. Let's tidy up our own backyard before we start lecturing the US. Our social services are in crisis and we should fix them first, before Theresa May starts lecturing people again, like a third-rate headmistress.

I prefer the Australian system:

After their experience with Turkey, I can't see the EU or the countries that have to contribute money going for another deal like that one...

I was wrong. It is more than that, according to May:

I make the Brexit dividend about £384 m PW more to spend on the NHS, according to May.

Canaries were used in mines to warn of a toxic build up of poisonous fumes. When the canary died, the miners got out of the mine. The prospect of the restriction of the free movement of economic migrants from outside the EU in Germany is the canary. Should freedom of movement end in Germany and Merkel quits, the basic principle of the EU, upon which it was founded ends and the EU is dead. This was picked up in the Times today, by Niall Ferguson. Nice to see that someone has been reading my posts...

One more reason to be glad we're leaving the EU, in today's Times: ...and a dead canary in the EU coal mine from the same edition: ...ooh, look, another dead canary:

Have you ever submitted a post on this site that you regret? I must admit, that was a dumb-ass post and not my finest...sorry about that.

What exactly do you think my case is and how has it been weakened? I am simply making the point that the data regarding the euro has been on a downward trend against the pound since last September. I would say that is due to a number of factors, none of which have anything to do with Brexit. As far as this "thick scumbag" as your delightful pal calls me (Don't quote him, please. It only encourages him) believes, it is more due to an Italian former banker who has stated that the ECB will stop printing money to support the doomed currency that is the euro and an Italian government that has suggested they will be printing money/bonds to support their failed state. Interest rates, trade tariffs and corporate results are driving market sentiment in the global economy, not a Brexit that hasn't happened yet. My case is simple. Brexit offers the UK the chance to go our own way, print our own money, raise interest rates, set trade tariffs and more importantly, honour the democratic will of the UK electorate. Still, keep listening to your bitcoin investing, currency trading pal for good advice. It is apparent by his insults that his money making schemes aren't going too well: Thank God he's on ignore. Smart money

If there was ever a definition of correlation not implying causation, this post is it. Pick one, any one of the events above and prove that it is directly caused by the prospect of the UK exiting the EU and I will start supporting Pompey. I could argue that because today the ECB has cut its forecast for economic growth in the eurozone this year from 2.4% to 2.1%, while also raising its inflation forecast from 1.4% to 1.7% due to Brexit, but that is also total pony. Still, I must admit, I like the look of this image of the pound against the euro:

And people say Canadians don't have a sense of humour. First electing Trudeau and now this. Hillarious...

You lost any credibility when you equated Trump to Hitler. There is a special place in hell for you...

Is that the same Justin Trudeau whose father had a close relationship with that well known dictator, Castro and on his death, released a statement mourning the loss of a “remarkable leader”? As the LA Times said, Trudeau is a useful idiot...

Trump talking about the economic potential he sees in North Korea: Funniest quote of the day. The Don is a legend...

All the politicians, millionaire liberal "luvvies", middle class European sheep and most of the rest, were wrong about Trump. I liked him when I first read "Art of the Deal" back in 1987. Anyone that rubs politicians up the wrong way and is well on the way to achieving world peace, fair treatment for American workers and jobs for minorities is OK by me. It just shows what a successful businessman can do, compared to a career politician. I look forward to the Nobel Prize presentation...

As I predicted in this post....: ....today this will happen: Ignore the misinformed loud mouths on this thread and stay tuned. I can't see Germany financing Italy much longer.

Meanwhile, the EU is revealed for exactly what it is here: I've long said the EU is run for the benefit of large Franco-German corporations. Let's see how they wriggle out of this one. A bunch of crooks....
