If you are saying that the link supports your view that Frankfurt will replace London as the global financial centre, then you're on drugs. While you're high, you should also question, from the link, why New York should be worried about Frankfurt, as they look like they are also runs as well.... "Deutsche Bank not a lot different to RBS, Lloyds Group from what I can see. I’m not a banking expert..."??? You obviously aren't a banking expert, but I'll let you off, as none of the "banking experts" saw the 2008 crash coming. You don't have to be an expert to see that Deutsche Bank is nothing like Lloyds Bank. Here's the story to help you.

Four main points here. Frankfurt won't replace London as the world's financial centre. (see here) The few jobs that go will be replaced by new ones in manufacturing due to the attractiveness of our exchange rate. If Germany is such a good place for banks, why is Deutsche Bank still in deep sh !t A few bankers leave London. Who cares? As far as "Labour voters , Tory and the idiot Independence party voters have cost our nation and our children a future", I would study the unemployment rates for the under 25's in Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and Greece, my little snowflake...

This has been known for a while and yet some still think the EU is a good idea. Read this:

You really should inform yourself of the "modern integrated society", founded by that well known fascist dictator, Franco before the war, that is Spain. Prior to this mini-Hitler who imposed the structure of his "modern integrated society" on the Catalans, they have proclaimed independence a few times: Some of the old people beaten up by the police in Barcelona, lived through the Spanish Civil War. You should take a look at the list of names of the British and Irish killed, who were part of the International Brigade that fought against the vile old fascist dictator in the Spanish Civil War. Jack Jones, the British Trade Union leader fought there when the unions were a real political force in this country. Fair play to Corbyn for condemning the action of the Spanish police. A pity the EU didn't.

It makes you wonder how Monaco and Andorra have existed quite happily as independent states for centuries, with Andorra as Catalan. If I lived in Barcelona, I would glance at Monaco, adopt their tax policies and stop sending more taxes to Madrid than they send back in benefits. It's not as if they are sponging Jocks...

Mate, the EU as a border less single state and as espoused by the real unelected zealots in Brussels, is disintegrating before your eyes. The financial advantages of us being part of a trading block like the EU are vastly overstated and the pain of leaving is way less than the pain of staying. First us, then Catalonia followed by Poland and Hungary will erect borders, both real and legal and the dominoes will fall. Wake up and smell the coffee, rather than the bullsh!t coming out of the EU.

Maybe the Jocks should reconsider if they really want to stay in an EU that is increasingly anti-democratic. Westminster has been fairly supportive about the devolution of power in the UK. The Jocks should have been more grateful. They could have been under the jackboot of Germany/EU, as Greece and Catalonia are.

Sorry, but I don't buy that. It was a committee within the commerce department, the International Trade Commission, that decided and I can't see Trump or Wilbur Ross being involved in any meaningful way. Anyway, what is wrong with a country protecting its jobs against unfair foreign trade practices? The EU have been doing it for years via the CAP, providing inefficient French farmers a way of competing with more efficient growers and we've been paying far too much for our food ever since. I think a balanced argument is needed but we are still in the EU, which has no trade deal with the US, primarily because the US would demand access to the market for their agricultural exports, an outcome that the French would never allow. That is why the EU/US trade deal is dead. I can see the UK opening up it's market to cheap US food in return for a break on aircraft tariffs. Anyway, it's all about a bankrupt Canadian company being propped up by Canada, who happen to employ workers in Northern Ireland, the ruling party of which forms a vital part of the working majority in the House of Commons. Boeing, a solvent company, employs more workers in the UK than Bombardier and I can't see the UK government doing anything more than giving lip service to placate the DUP. The factory is in the EU and we have a better chance of negotiating a reduced tariff than the EU would anyway, but why would we care too much about a Canadian company?

Well paid, upper class MP with aristocratic family living in a council flat in Kensington and the monarchy, which costs each one of us 50 pence a year, are the scroungers? Is Corbyn's vision, shared by people like her, really one the electorate of this country want to live in? If so, I'm off...
-
It's not the US and EU going toe to toe. It's Boeing going toe to toe with Airbus at the WTO in Geneva. I believe that Boeing have a point wrt state subsidies for both Boeing and Bombardier. Not that Boeing are that clean, themselves...
-
In the absence of a US/EU trade deal, that is probably the sign of things to come for the EU. All the more important to get our own trade deal with the US ASAP...

Emma Dent Coad fits in well with the new Socialists. I love her recent appearance at the Labour party conference. At the same fringe event, when one audience member asked how republicans should work to abolish the monarchy, another activist shouted out: “Guillotine!” What a class act she is. Working class, that is, from Kensington and proud of it....

I quite liked this paper, as well: Sounds like a slam dunk, scientific proof, then and a great reason to spend billions on trying to reduce CO2 levels from 0.04% down to 0.03%... -
