exit2 Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 I was surprised at how many league one grounds I had been to to watch Saints over the years. I think it was 19 watching Saints plus 2 others I have been to see games, when I have been working away from home. So how mnay grounds have you been to with Saints and without and what grounds you looking forward to going to. Even memories of past games. For me has to be Tranmere losing 4-3 Southend on a Friday night pre season I think about 29 Saints fans and Woggy gave us all free tickets! Brentford in the league cup about 9 years ago. Met up with some mates from London and we had to have 2 pints in every pub that was on each corner of the ground!
Mole Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 I'm looking forward to both our opening home games. Brentford at home on my birthday will be fun. ******** that wasn't the question... Been to Millwall, Charlton, Norwich and Leeds. Looking forward to Swindon and Brighton away.
Michelle Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 All my away grounds have been with Saints. I've got 12 new grounds this season, plus whatever may pop up in cup matches. Hartlepool and Carlisle are top of the list so far, gonna have to miss out on Stockport though, so that'll knock me down to 11 newbies. Done all of PL and Championship bar Arsenal, Wigan and Swansea, and done 7 in League 2 already.
Papa Shango Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 (edited) Been to 51 grounds in total, seen Saints at all of them apart from Swindon. From League 1 I have been to; Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Exeter, Leeds, Millwall, Norwich, Southend, Swindon (and obviously St Marys) 15 new grounds to tick off this season then! Best moment from those grounds had to be the 3-0 win at Elland Road in 2006. Great to see the Leeds fans so upset, especially considering it was the first time we had played them since THAT game at St Marys the previous season. The game at Carrow Road the same season when we needed to win to have a chance of staying in the hunt for the play offs was a great day out and a great atmosphere. Charlton is always a one of the best away days. Exeter was a nice little trip last season in the cup. Millwall away in the cup a few years ago was one of the most comfortable games I've ever seen involving Saints (4-0) Worst moment, Bristol Rovers in the cup! Dicko Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 There's some Southern grounds that will be new for me I've never been to Wycombe, Yeovil or Leyton Orient I've seen Stadium MK, but never been to a match, and I drove past Colchester's ground on the A12, whilst on my way to Ipswich
Neil Posted 17 June, 2009 Share Posted 17 June, 2009 13 new grounds next season, but can't make Stockport so possibly 12 if I can drag myself up to Hartlepool midweek. But looking at the fixtures, there's not many games I don't fancy going to! Looks like some decent drinking Saturdays in the Big Smoke...
