spyinthesky Posted 5 September, 2009 Share Posted 5 September, 2009 Since Saints joined the Football League (just after WW1), i think this is the lowest position the club has been in ie bottom of the League 1 or, Div 3 in old money. If Duncan is viewing perhaps he will confirm. Sad state of affairs. We were truly poor from start to finish today and lucky to survive the shot against the cross bar and Lisbie's miss
mattyd Posted 5 September, 2009 Share Posted 5 September, 2009 The comparison is wrong. In those days we played in Division 3 (South) as the set up was similar to Blue Square North and South. Therefore no comparison can be made.

I still reckon we must give it at least 3 months - I hear today was frustrating by all accounts (I didn't go, I am on holiday and sent my Dad instead) but - speaking through gritted teeth - let's judge come Xmas. Incidentally my Dad saw a few things that gave him hope and he is far from happy clappy and has hardly been since relegation from the Prem. Back for the Charlton game - it's got to be better than my last away game at Huddersfield. I am intrigued how they have seemed to have turned their club around over the summer. Parkinson seems to be doing a good job.
