70's Mike Posted 21 November, 2009 Share Posted 21 November, 2009 I do not usually subscribe to the "big game/must win" theory but Sundays performance was worrying, even allowing for the health issues of some players. The biggest concern being, as with Bristol Rovers at home our defence seemed to struggle without target lumps to mark For me todays performance will given a clear indication if we can move away from the relegation zone or have a real relegation fight on our hands. Norwich are a good side who will have done their homework on us and it will be interesting to see how we react to that. Me I hope Ap reverts to 4-5-1, and leaves Connolly on the bench to come on and make an impact, i also think 4-5-1 benefits Lallana and Antionio because it removes some of the defensive duties from them. John B Posted 21 November, 2009 Share Posted 21 November, 2009 (edited) Will Norwich come for a draw? If they do 451 maybe the wrong formation. But with only three strikers available and one a novice 451 seems the best approach Edited 21 November, 2009 by John B

Toomer Posted 21 November, 2009 Share Posted 21 November, 2009 I think we will win by the odd goal in five, roller coaster 3-2 win.
macthesaint Posted 21 November, 2009 Share Posted 21 November, 2009 Intelligent post as usual Mike. I think the Brighton game shocked us all, couldn't have seen that coming. So as for today, usually a good game v Norwich,my money will be on 2-1 Saints. What would be lovely is to listen to a Saints radio build up on the way in. I miss that! Wildgoose Posted 21 November, 2009 Share Posted 21 November, 2009 I agree with you about our defence, but surely you don't honestly believe that today will indicate if we will face a relegation fight or not?....Norwich are a top side in League 1 and we have won, what? 7 out of the last 9? That's nothing like relegation form. I am desperate for us to win and get back on track today - a loss will be galling but not signal the end of the world or relegation problems. We have the beating of most teams in this League.....and we should finish at least mid-table whatever happens today

I think there are a few cracks in the edifice that is SFC. Everything is not as hunky-dory as we would like to think it is. Todays performance and result will be very telling... One loss does not lead to relegation, conversely one win does not mean we'll walk this league. Our performances will take us to at least halfway in the league at season's end. I am confident of that.
