Well, i'm sure some cynics would say of course it could be but i just wanted to post a thread about how incredibly exciting it is being a saints fan again...

I've not posted on these sites since the saintsforever days when it all turned nasty but its great to be back on here reading positive posts and posts about the football instead of all the negative depressing things that have happened over the past few years.

We are lucky that some random swiss man came in from nowhere and saved the club and as for the next five years with their five year plan....well bring it on!

all in favour say....AYE!!

aye !

some people will want to slash their wrists or string up AP if we lose what is a difficult game today but we only need to win 13 out of 23 (or 22 if we lose today) to get to the magic play off usual total points tally so like you say, Bring It On !!

and welcome back :)

ha ha, exactly, but who would have predicted playoffs at the start of the season...?!?

Its a mega bonus...

lets not all be so hasty

Exactly. If we are in with a chance of the play offs come Easter people need to remember its a bonus for this season, its not part of the 5 year plan to reach them this year. A trip to Wembley in the JPT would be a nice bonus too !

It's boring as hell fighting for mid table mediocraty in the Premier Leaue...

Agree....Which will beg the question in 2 - 3 years time when we get re-promted to the Premier League....Does Mr Liebherr keep us ticking along in mid-table forever more, or does he start injecting enough funds to compete with the 'tier 2' clubs in the Premier League (i.e. the likes of Spurs, Aston Villa, etc).

It will be interesting to see how high mssrs Cortese and Liebherr set the bar if, sorry, when we reach the premier league.....

My genuine hope is that we get there, under Pardew, and that we keep investing in the team and do what Aston Villa have done.

As a club, we had this opportunity once in the early 80s and blew it.

I really hope we don't do the same again...

People might think it crazy, but I see no reason why (over a period) we could not aim to compete with the Chelseas of this world (never with Liverpool or United - well not in my lifetime because of their heritage which is something you cannot buy)...

Our owner is wealthier than the Russian, after all! :)
