QUOTE=scooby;7249]Who can forget the panic induced fire sale after relegation where lowe sold off any player who could walk.

Do you mean "the sale of mostly underperforming players who were too grand for the CCC and wanted to walk"?

Who can forget the panic induced fire sale after relegation where lowe sold off any player who could walk.

Actually I think you'll find there was a clause in the player's contracts that they had to take a 99.9999% pay cut.

This ****ed off our players so they all went.

Fulham came in for Niemi and he "couldn't turn down the chance to play in the Premiership and rejoin David Coles "

It's very difficult to Sell players if they don't want to leave a club!!

QUOTE=scooby;7249]Actually, he has personally SOLD many of our best players of the last 10 years, Niemi being just one

Then you are factually correct. Who can forget the panic induced fire sale after relegation where lowe sold off any player who could walk.

Twisting the truth, as usual.

The players that our good Lord Lowe sold wanted to leave. It's that simple. They considered themselves Premiership class and wanted nothing to do with the mickey mouse. Lord Lowe did, however, have the foresight and the vision to implement a 50% pay cut in all contracts should we go down.

Well, presumably being appointed as Stuart Pearce's assistant coach of the England under 21's might be deemed to be quite a good indication that he was respected enough to be considered as qualified to coach the best English youngsters in the land.

Yes it might well be. But then again Steve Wigley also took that role on and was similarly well regarded. Don't think there are too many shouts to get him back!

Coaching international kids (a part time job) offers very different challenges to that of the stress of the weekly grind of the championship, where you can choose to play older, more experienced players if desired. Many managers feel it is less of a risk to do just and end up with a conveyor belt system of comings and goings. Personally I would rather take a chance with hungrier, more motivated younger players, than continue to see the short term 'solution' of temporary loans and getting in players that are well past their 'best by' date.
