No, they don't. I hope your cat is ok!

 

One of mine got clipped by a car last year and big cash was spent on a vet's bill. Not fun although fine in the end. I suspect your outcome is not so good.

Unfortunately I ran over a cat once, whilst observing the speed limit.

 

Had little chance to avoid a collision as the cat came storming out from inside a hedge.

Because I was only going 30mph the cat was injured not despatched.

I stopped to see what could be done and got assailed by a woman and her scabby kids, who brought bystanders in to have a go.

All my fault apparently.

Fortunately the local postal delivery woman, who actually witnessed the incident, spoke up for me and this helped to some extent

Would be loath to stop and offer assistance again after this experience!!
