LA77 Posted 11 August, 2010 Share Posted 11 August, 2010 I know many fans don't like being a "scarfer" etc, but for the next home game why not dig out the scarf. A packed house with a scarf wall, like the Kop would be a great tribute. The first two thoughts that spring to mind when I think about him is the Wembley trophy being lifted as he is taking pictures, and the picture of him with his Saints scarf smiling and waving. Apologies if this has been mentioned on another thread, but it's an easy way to show our thanks to the great man.
georgeg Posted 12 August, 2010 Share Posted 12 August, 2010 good shout la77 - the orient game should see St Marys packed out and your suggestion is one way we can show our appreciation of Markus
saintsforlife7 Posted 12 August, 2010 Share Posted 12 August, 2010 Singing One Markus Liebherr for the first 10 minutes of the game?
Victor Posted 12 August, 2010 Share Posted 12 August, 2010 Singing One Markus Liebherr for the first 10 minutes of the game? How would it go - "one Markus Liebherr, there was only one Markus Liebherr"? Doesn't sound quite right. If no-one can think of something more dignified than a simple minute's silence why don't we just leave it at that?

It's a football chant - there is no rule as far as I'm aware dictating that you have to chant in present tense only.
Toomer Posted 12 August, 2010 Share Posted 12 August, 2010 I would like to see a scarf placed on his seat in the Directors Box.
Alan56 Posted 13 August, 2010 Share Posted 13 August, 2010 Why can't we just let the family grieve as they wish and from all accounts that is in a private, dignified manner. As fans, yes a minutes silence and book of condolence but please lets just try for once to cut out this awful trait of what can perhaps best be described as "corporate grieving." Who suggested that we are "corporate grieving" ffs? And yes "as fans" raising a Saints scarf before the match is all we'd have to do.
dune Posted 13 August, 2010 Share Posted 13 August, 2010 We have more class than Liverpudlians and their tacky displays. Singing for 90 minutes will do.
LA77 Posted 13 August, 2010 Author Share Posted 13 August, 2010 We have more class than Liverpudlians and their tacky displays. Singing for 90 minutes will do. Fair enough. I am not gonna bother arguing on a message board. The reason behind it was that Markus nearly always had his scarf on. I used the Kop thing as an example. I honestly don't know why so many people on here appear to be so rude with their replies.
Alan56 Posted 14 August, 2010 Share Posted 14 August, 2010 Not a question of being rude, merely a view that you object too!! Some people however feel expressing one's grief does not always have to be in public.

I didn't mean it to be rude, it's just not for me but if others wanted to do it it wouldn't bother me really.
