Last season we won 3-1, with Lambert and Connolly up front, each scoring. If Barnard is out till January surely this is the best partnership up front now? Also, if we lack wide players, bring in Harding, push Dickson up and free up Lallana. Simple.

Absolutely agree... A mix of Connollys fast footwork and lamberts skill up front would surely produce a goal or two. Lallana worked really well with Connolly too in FA cup round one (or was it two?) so a repeat of that setup would be good.

I know Connolly is injury prone but at times like this it's a risk we surely have to take..

I'm not sure of starting Connolly and Lambert my team would be

Davis

Harding Martin Fonte Butterfield

Dickson Hammond schiderlin Chaplow

Lallana

Lambert

with the pacy players like Guly, Oxo, Connolly on the bench

Harding and Dickson down the right, and Butterfield and Chappers on the left? Perfect.

I'd go with this, considering our strikers. Try and give our midfield the chance to dominate the centre of the pitch more than they did saturday. Then with 20 mins left introduce Guly and Oxo to run at the wallsall defence and go 4-4-2.

Is chaplow fit though?

I am so glad you didn't put an 's' on the end of that!
