It will give you High Definition Surround Sound e.g. DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, Dolby Prologic, etc from DVD's, Blu Rays or Games e.g the PS3, Wii or 360.
