WealdSaint Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I'm a financial simpleton. But am I correct in thinking that the same Middle East Businessmen who own Man City also now own a significant percentage of Barclays? I wonder how many clubs, like Saints, are only surviving at Barclays whim?

Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 Well, I'd think that Sheffield Wednesday would be in the financial mire for sure. If press reports are to be believed their players had to shell out £60 a throw for their own train fares to London on Saturday for the match against Palarse. I don't think even Saints have had to sink to that yet - although I stand to be corrected - so maybe our financial problems, despite the gloom, are not as bad as some of the other clubs in this league. Anyone got any inside info on others situations ?
SFC Forever Posted 3 November, 2008 Share Posted 3 November, 2008 If others are worse of than us then maybe Lowe is not doing as badly as we have thought. Maybe we could be in a position soon to steal players from other clubs who have monetary problems instead of us having them taken.
WealdSaint Posted 3 November, 2008 Author Share Posted 3 November, 2008 I'll be worried if we sell any players to Man City........wondering what happened behind the scenes. But it probably won't happen
