Saint-scooby Posted 10 May, 2012 Share Posted 10 May, 2012 I am looking a S320 diesel "used" It has a few lights on ie the air suspension is low, drives well. What will I get on a motorway ? After market parts ? Am I buying a heap of trouble with a Merc
Pugwash Posted 11 May, 2012 Share Posted 11 May, 2012 Have a chat with Bursledon Motors (at Durley), they've been independent Merc service specialists since the sixties.
ericofarabia Posted 12 May, 2012 Share Posted 12 May, 2012 Wasn't it some form of Innernet put down or something?
Tractor_Saint Posted 12 May, 2012 Share Posted 12 May, 2012 Watch out for any lights that are on as IIRC the new MOT rules state that there should be no warning lights on. My dad has this issue with his merc where the ABS light or something comes on intermittently and isn't looking forward to getting it MOT'd. Having said that, I've got a Merc at the moment and it's been great for the 4 years I've had it. Don't think it's ever been in the garage for anything other than a regular service and MOT. Saint-scooby Posted 15 May, 2012 Author Share Posted 15 May, 2012 I gave it a pass, shame as it was a rather nice motor, I will keep my eye out, problem is they drop in value so much after a while. Thanks Pugwash I will keep them in mind xx
swannymere Posted 15 May, 2012 Share Posted 15 May, 2012 Air suspension problems can mean big bucks, remember these were expensive cars to buy new and the cost of parts and servicing will be commensurate. Try joining a Mercedes forum like http://www.mbclub.co.uk as they will be able to point you in the right direction.
