stevegrant Posted 3 January, 2013 Share Posted 3 January, 2013 Morning all, As you may or may not have noticed, on New Years Eve we were the target for a bunch of annoying hackers. After spending a few days investigating this, it appears as though there's a security vulnerability within the Arcade plugin we've had installed and running on SaintsWeb for some time, and this loophole has been used to deface the site. In order to plug this hole, I have had to remove the arcade. I appreciate that a number of you used it regularly, and I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the security of the site and user data is infinitely more important. Cheers Steve
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 January, 2013 Share Posted 3 January, 2013 Deface the site, missed that, what happened ? What have you and Baj done to annoy anonamous ?
pap Posted 3 January, 2013 Share Posted 3 January, 2013 Mr Logic head on. If user safety and integrity are infinitely more important than the arcade section, you're essentially saying that the Arcade section was of zero importance.

hypochondriac Posted 3 January, 2013 Share Posted 3 January, 2013 So having not played in the arcade in about two years, I get to retire undefeated. I too am comfortable with that.

stevegrant Posted 4 January, 2013 Author Share Posted 4 January, 2013 Will ever come back if you can sort out the loop hole. Steve It's a third-party plugin, so if the developers who made it can fix it (and prove that it's been fixed) then I'll certainly look at re-installing it, but they've not released an updated version for a couple of years now so I wouldn't hold your breath.
