Oz Posted 1 December, 2008 Share Posted 1 December, 2008 as some of you guys may already have known, john sydenham underwent a serious operation last week, hence he could't make the launch of terry paine's book. pleased to let you know that the op was 100% successful and he will soon be up and running (and boy how he could run!) great news and praise the Lord! I was at SMC at the same time as Syddy. If it's not confidential what was the problem?

I'm so pleased to hear the good news. I adored JS in the 'old days' - had a real crush on him
ladysaint Posted 1 December, 2008 Share Posted 1 December, 2008 I really pleased to hear he is OK, one of the nicest and most generous persons I have met.
KK the 2nd Posted 1 December, 2008 Share Posted 1 December, 2008 Sounds like he was quite a ladies man judging by the last two posts! Good luck to John, great memories of him dashing down the left wing, often so fast he would run into the wall at the Archers or Milton!
ART Posted 1 December, 2008 Share Posted 1 December, 2008 It is thanks to John that I became a Saints support. Dad and Granddad would go to Pompey in order to see First Division football in the days when many Saints fans supported both clubs. John was an old boy at St Marys and a school hero. Hence I'd insist on going to the Dell whilst the old folks went off to the Rust Bowl. John is, was and always will be my hero as far as football goes, and I can never forget those runs and one two's with Terry. They were so really special. God bless you John, get well soon , and hope you'll be able to make it over to bring that inspiration of yours to the young lads really soon.
