That's a good trick. His mates had put a lot of thought and effort into it, which shows how fond they are of him and how good a friend he is. I remember begrudgingly going on a stag do of someone at work. I figured that he'd have some good mates there that had put some effort into the events of the day and evening - pranks, etc. Turns out he didn't really have any friends and most people thought he was a bit of a tw*t. Nobody had organised anything at all other than just going to a club. So, just to make him think that we actually liked him and gave a sh*t about him, one of the fellas went into a joke shop and got him a silly hat to wear.
