From the Echo:

The mood at St Mary’s also changed as the fans, who had been supportive all season, turned and protested once again about Saints chairman Rupert Lowe.

As frustration grew at St Mary’s came the first sustained anti-Rupert Lowe protests as huge swathes of the ground protested against the PLC chairman who was not at the game.

The mood was turning ugly in the ground as stewards moved in remove angry fans and others congregated around the dugout as some supporters shouted at Poortvliet.

Today's NOTW mention about the chanting and the fact Lowe was in Scotland at the time.

Thing is, how did his ugly mug get on the screen after our goal?

Did it really? Was Lowe's picture put on the screens after our goal. I didnt notice but if it was... why? Psychological tricks?

I didn't see it myself, but when I text a mate saying Lowe wasn't there she replied "he was, they put the ugly mug on the screen when we scored".

Who knows, Lowe might be like Saddam Hussein and have a lot of doubles floating about, it could have actually been Roy Cropper in Lowe's place.

Saints supporters have remained patient despite the team’s poor form this season but all that changed in one dramatic afternoon as:

● Fighting broke out between fellow Saints fans in the stands with stewards forced to separate and eject supporters from the ground;

● Vociferous and sustained protests took place against PLC chairman Rupert Lowe who wasn’t at the game;

● Fans threatened to invade the pitch after two evaded the wall of stewards;

● Over 400 fans protested outside the front of the ground after the game, prompting police to be called to the stadium for what was supposed to be a police-free game;

● Some fans even vented their anger at Jan Poortvliet and the Saints dugout, trying to confront them as the game was taking place; Saints have just over a week now to try and regroup and get themselves together for a crucial match at Norwich that looks as if it could go a long way to deciding their fate this season.

And the club hires stewards from Pompey. How Lowe loves to rub our noses in the mud.

Little bit in the Grauniad today

But look at this too:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/jan/19/lord-marland-ecb-election-giles-clarke

This is an abridged version of the article that appeared in the paper this morning, in which he said:

"I'm constantly maddened by the ineptitude of people who manage sporting institutions"

Now, he was particularly referring to cricket but he might take heed of his own words and pass them on to his good mate Rupes :D

This is about Lord Jonathan Marland BTW
