Can anyone remind me if ABK has also finally and definitively gone as I can't see any mention here and I imagine the OS are probably too embarassed and certainly wouldn't want to thank him for his 'services'. Wasn't there a competition for the privilege of driving him to his new club?

Nope. Verona rumoured to be interested but nothing concrete and as it stands he is still very much here.

If it doesn’t work out for him in Bremen and returning to Saints doesn’t appeal, Handball is Germany’s second most favourite sport and Volleyball has over seventy professional clubs.

Lots of chances to get ‘hands on’ and become a Japanese international at something new.
