Football Special Posted 5 March, 2025 Posted 5 March, 2025 One of the best FA Cup nights at The Dell, magic, great memories, it was same season we got to Wembley in ZDS, it wasn't *all* bad under Branfoot 1

Matty's Caddy Posted 5 March, 2025 Posted 5 March, 2025 That’s little old me in the centre of the goal giving it star jumps. That was the last kick of the game and that ball moved up, down, left and right. 3
Lee On Solent Saint Posted 5 March, 2025 Posted 5 March, 2025 I was on my way out of the Milton about halfway up when the whole end shouted shoot. Next thing I know the whole end was just a mass of bodies jumping and screaming as we tried to get back down to the front. Didn't even realise it was Horne who got the equaliser until the end of the game. Great memories 2

Stud mark of doom Posted 5 March, 2025 Author Posted 5 March, 2025 In terms importance of game, last minute timing, and quality of finish this might only be second to MLT’s last goal at The Dell? Watched it from the East Stand - the ball seemed to be ‘radio controlled’. Great commentary too - the ball is already half way towards the goal before he starts saying “is there one hope left…”. I’d forgotten it was Branford era. The Dell was fooking great! 1

It has everything doesn't it Cup night drama under the lights ✅️ The Dell at its best packed out, great following midweek from Bolton ✅️ Classic commentary, can't remember his name but very familiar ✅️ Top admiral kit ✅️ On the pitch bounce around goal celebrating from the lower West ✅️ Should have bloody beaten Norwich in the quarters we still owe them for that

I was at the Bolton game but was young. All I remember is being utterly shocked and amazed when that ball flew past the keeper!

It moves around like a Jimmy Anderson scrambled seam delivery on a firm green top in overcast conditions 11.10am with a new ball. Footballs behave more like that now but not 30 plus years ago they didn’t. 1
richie Posted 7 March, 2025 Posted 7 March, 2025 Proper limbs in the Bolton end. Julian Darby is still knocking around at Bolton too. 1
