Football paper tickets

Some of my football tickets. Daily express tournament Saints got to final once. Went with school, also Wembley 78. Some match tickets £2.80. Luton Town away first bar code which dint work, typical IT. Some Fratton tickets, in Pompey end for cup Moran goal game there were a few Saints in home end. Cup tickets with round and the two teams in replay printed. london Saints away party after Dellhurst player there too. Saints v Hamburg hone and away, Bucharest away. England away v France, Germany. Cup vouchers needed stamps to get later rounds. 

ZDS final v Forest lost 2-3 but massive Saints following and red flares set off each time we scored.

Should have 15 tickets for each best bands seen since 77, Sabbath, Hawkwind, Motorhead, Rush. Plus Let Zep, Clash, GBH, Dammed, UK Subs, Reading 80, 83, Glastonbury 84, Knebworth 79 but lost them. Been to few Saints games then gigs after .

Much better than e tickets !!

 Great pics. Back in the early 80s, I'd collect £1.50 from each of my mates, give all the cash to my Mum who would post off a cheque to the Dell ticket office,with a stamped, addressed envelope. A few days later, the tickets would drop through the letterbox. Simpler times.

 

Edit: Was it really only £1.50 for kids in the Keegan era, or am I mis-remembering?

Digital tickets truly are one of the worst things in modern football. And that's truly tough competition.

Back in the 1970s when I was working at a TV research facility I used to organise midweek trips by coach to Wembley to see England play. The total cost was less than a fiver but I remember the match ticket prices starting off at about £1.50 and steadily increasing to about £3.50  in just a few years. I used to order them direct from Wembley Stadium and they would arrive by Registered Letter.

As an aside, seeing your user name I should let you know that my neighbours are still in occasional touch with Ivan and this Christmas they received a card from him.
