Despite obvious feelings between us a sad day for a Skate Legend passing at 65 Prostrate Cancer.

That's terrible news. Growing up as a kid listening to Radio Solent in the 90s, certain names you heard over and over for years and Alan Knight was one of those players.

Very sad. Was only 65. Played for Pompey for over 20 years. Came across as a thoroughly decent bloke.

I met him a few times socially and he was good company.He was generous with charities and local community stuff and apart from drink issues was what you would like from your players.RIP

Seemed a top bloke, only ever heard good things about him. A one club legend off the pitch as much as on it.

Side note - just saw Alex Crooks' piece about him on Talkshite...explains why he goes in so hard on us in the media, looks like he's a boyhood skate!
