TT, there is the interview Ron made with Jimmy Hill the day after that match, for The Big Match programme. It's almost as lengthy as the highlights you describe, and used to be available on Spanish Saints and Youtube. But it seems to have gone missing. I was wondering if anyone knows where that particular footbage is. If found, it's a significant contribution.

BTW, both bits of archive footage were originally supplied by John Sydenham.

as my absolute boyhood hero (Ron not you) and the reason all my football allegiances became the Saints, I would be very interested in acquiring a DVD covering his career (or at least some of his goals if that's all that's available). Does anyone have any commercial link who could test whether this could creat a fund raiser to help Ron (or other Saints ex pros)? If Ron is too specific could he be included in a more general series on the best of the Saints for each decade?

Time for me to bring this reminder, I suspect:

Morph FFS, what a brilliant site...loads of great stuff. I have honestly never seen this.

Totally new level of respect for Windmill Mickey...really encourage the youngers, any one that wants cheering up or those losing the faith and down in the mouth to visit these links.

Geniune thanks - magic stuff....still need Ron footage as well.

I was just thinking a bit of footage from our Alehouse era might dispel a few notions of our "glory days". There were games, seasons and eras when we were absolute junk.Nobody moaned though, well not all day and every day anyway. Nobody called for George Reader,Alan woodford or Ted Bates to resign on an hourly basis. There was a time, when TB was thought or rumoured or asserted

to being kept in the job because his Mrs held sway in the boardroom or amongst shareholders.¨Probably not true but it certainly did the rounds when we weren't playing well. Football is a subject in which opinion, discussion and

memory sometimes get out of control.

Legit observations WC, from my view it was ok though when one week you'd be watching Greavesie and Gilzean, then Best and Charlton, then Moore and Hurst, followed by Ossie and Charlie Cooke - Now it's all some muppet from Swansea whose name ends in 'ez', some donkeys from Donny or some old Journeymen pros from the Pilgrims of Plymouth...

Ala Bryan Ferry - Another Time, Another Place huh?
