.comsaint Posted 22 February, 2009 Share Posted 22 February, 2009 Is this report true? Real shame for the lad (and us) if it is. Thought he looked very good at times & offered a threat going forward when coming on fresh in a game. Hopefully the OS can verify the report... http://www.southampton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=144671
StuRomseySaint Posted 22 February, 2009 Share Posted 22 February, 2009 The bloke being stretchered off is white, and looks to be a goalkeeper. Also, the picture was not taken at St Marys, Staplewood or David Lloyd, which are the main Southampton training venues.... therefore I think it is b*llocks. davetheturtle Posted 22 February, 2009 Share Posted 22 February, 2009 Saints have Morgan Schneiderlin suspended after the Frenchman picked up his fifth booking of the season, and youngster Kayne McLaggon has ruptured his left Achilles, bringing an unfortunate end to his involvement this season. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11394
.comsaint Posted 22 February, 2009 Author Share Posted 22 February, 2009 Bollix. It is true then. McLaggon was a very decent option to have on the bench. Get well soon nipper.

VectisSaint Posted 22 February, 2009 Share Posted 22 February, 2009 Nope, they are definately trying to pass off that white goalkeeper as McGlaggon The report says he was carried off during a regular training session. The picture is obviously nothing to do with the report, as it is blindingly obvious that it is during a match, the clues would be the referee or assistant whichever and the St Johns Ambulance staff - you don't usually get refs and St Johns at traiing sessions. He's not the only one to have had injuries like this, but "seasoned profs." are often fit enough to get over these things quicker.

Seems to me that our youth have been injured more which could mean one of two things: 1. Not robust enough yet (which sort of explains why most Premiership teams bring in their young players for part of a game and build them up gradually). 2. Trying too hard to make up for deficiencies in their game.

AndyNorthernSaints Posted 23 February, 2009 Share Posted 23 February, 2009 Most clubs seem to be still getting loans in to cover for injuries etc. Not expecting Saints to do this though :-(
