Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 (edited) With all the messed up finances going on off the field I think some of us on here have lost our way, being called a mug for going yesterday others not going because of Lowe or the current players. SFC is our club, regardless of who owns it, who plays for it or doesn’t like it. In 10 years time none of the current players will be there, god knows who will be the manager or even the owner or even what league we will be playing in, but I know there is one constant in all this turmoil ... Me. Me being all Saints fans, that will never be taken away from us. Yes I felt a connection with the players in the past and will in the future, currently I have no feeling for anyone who was on the pitch yesterday, however my passion to support SFC is still burning bright in my heart and that will never change. Delmary Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Great post. Us fans have to stand by our club in its hour of need. Players, managers and directors come and go but fans stay. The poor results hurt but we must hang in there and keep attending matches. The club urgently needs our money through the turnstiles. I urge all Saints fans to get down to St.Marys for last two games of the season and support their club. SOS

Toadhall Saint Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Being called a mug for going yesterday is totally outrageous IMO. No Saints fan should be saying that to a fellow Saints fan. Is this how low its got eh?
Delmary Posted 11 April, 2009 Share Posted 11 April, 2009 Being called a mug for going yesterday is totally outrageous IMO. No Saints fan should be saying that to a fellow Saints fan. Is this how low its got eh?True but there are a few fans (not aimed at any particular fan on this forum) who are living in denial and really have yet to grasp the seriousness of SFC's plight. Sadly they probably don't realise that SFC might not be here in a few months time. The world is suffering its worse financial crisis since the great 1930s depression and the frightening reality is that Saints might not pull through it. From my own personnal perspective if Saints die then a apart of me dies. Therefore, I'll do all within my power to help my club, eg attend matches, spend money in the mega store etc.. SFC till I die Spot on mate. It's heartbreaking at the moment but Tuesday night at Watford summed up the feelings for this club. Our support was fantastic and we all deserve better than this. Other clubs such as Watford whose fans were shockingly bad,and deserve sod all seem to get a better deal. Look at Wigan for example. Pathetic support yet they have a passionate and loaded chairman and are doing well. Where's our Dave Whelan!!!!!!!!

rocknrollman no2 Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 Good original post. I totally agree that what ever happens on or off the pitch, its the football club we must all support. Its just very hard to be positive at the moment.Hopefully that will change in League One if we have a good start to next season.

Sure the club needs our support at games but asking for our money so we can survive till the end of the season is IMO treating us like mugs! derry Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 One of the real big problems is the stinking apathy and know it all arrogance from this seasons central characters. The team management is poor, the performances in terms of demonstrating knowhow and football ability are dire. There is no evidence of real talent, only superficial, no evidence that the many years spent in the academy have been worthwhile, the level of knowledge and basic football skills demonstrated is poor. The tactical awareness of the players is non existent. The fans haven't liked this, have dispaired of ever coming out of it but have supported the club magnificently. They are in the main, the only reason for trying to save the club.

Good post you are right the support at Watford and at home to Palace shows that this club is well worth saving most Championship sides and some Prem would love to have a fan base like ours we are indeed in dark days but I am sure the future is bright in Red & White UTS
