lordswoodsaints Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 on the os it mentions a few loan players positions but what about rasiak and john? They are officially saints players and if nobody wants to buy them then I presume they will be coming back.
jimmysaint7 Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 i guess if we get a new owner suppose we may keep them but i doubt if they wanna play in league one
westmidlandsaint Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Brendan Rogers at Watford is apparently very keen on signing Rasiak on a permanent.
Dicko Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 I think Stern John is out of contract at the end of the season, so we've obviously seen the last of him Rasiak still has 1 year to run, but I can't see him wanting to play in League 1, and I can't see new owners wanting to pay a player £12k a week in that league either
um pahars Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 I think Stern John is out of contract at the end of the season, so we've obviously seen the last of him Rasiak still has 1 year to run, but I can't see him wanting to play in League 1, and I can't see new owners wanting to pay a player £12k a week in that league either The problem is that all football debts must be honoured if we want to play in this league, so whether they want to pay his wages is irrelevant. They have to honour his contract if they want to recceive the "Golden Share". There's nothing to stop them trying to come to some agreement with Rasiak, or as others have suggested letting him go on a free, but the ball is in his court. Given it's his final year and there is probably a "loyalty" bonus in there somewhere, he's probably due something like £750k, which is a fair whack to walk away from!!!!!!! NickG Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Um, I read it as Dicko meaning that new owners would not want to pay him that so would sell him?
um pahars Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 Um, I read it as Dicko meaning that new owners would not want to pay him that so would sell him? I agree, but to sell him you have to have someone who not only wants to buy him, but is also willing to pay him a wedge that is commensurate or close to what he would earn by staying here. FloridaMarlin Posted 25 April, 2009 Share Posted 25 April, 2009 The problem is that football contracts run up to June 30, so after the last day of the season, Rasiak and John come back on to the wage bill. John is out of contract this summer, but unless he foregoes wages, Saints are obliged to pay him up to June 30. Likewise Rasiak. Watford may want to buy him, but why should they pay his wages through the summer? If they've got sense, they'll stick in a bid on July 1. Getting those two back on the payroll on Monday May 4 adds an extra £24,000 per week to the wage bill for the thick end of two months.

AlfredKo Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 Stern John was not even on the bench for Bristol City. Could he fancy to take a pay-cut and then playing regularly in League 1 next season?
ottery st mary Posted 3 May, 2009 Share Posted 3 May, 2009 (edited) Stern John was not even on the bench for Bristol City. Could he fancy to take a pay-cut and then playing regularly in League 1 next season? Bristol are asking for..Spiderman, Gasmi , Pulis, Smith And David Mac in part exchange for John......Bit naughty about the Pulis part of the deal as we haven't seen him play yet.....might be a star like Liptak. But if we give them £100,000 plus the players mentioned we might get him back.......I was sure he was only on loan to city....Are they having us over or are we just off loading some craaaappp:D Sorry forgot....Throw in Molyneaux as well.
