  1. As a non-Sotonian, I assure you you are talking nonsense. Also, The Keegan era kit was striped, just one broad white stripe and a couple of narrower ones at the side. "Cotterill" (presumably Cockerill?) played mostly in stripes, the Hummel Denmark kit was striped as well as being halved, and the sash was a 100 year old kit for one season. In fact the anniversary sash aside, there's only one Saints kit up to now that wasn't in any way red/white striped, and that was the plain red Patrick kit circa 1986. EVERYONE knows Saints wear stripes.
  2. I still hate this season's shirt and it hasn't grown on me at all. And how would the black/silver (which they've been using for corporate branding all THIS season) tie in with the white/gold they used for the Official Statement at the end of last week ?
  3. Isn't that basically this season's Stoke kit ?
  4. Where was the tribute ? No silence held, black armbands is neither here nor there. Plus wasn't All Saints Day a Rupert innovation ?
  5. You're going to have to aim lower then.
  6. I'm guessing at... £48m on 4 players.
  7. I've always been a fan of getting your targets signed asap to remove the chance of them going anywhere else where possible, but until this season we've always been in a situation where our options have been limited by our status, either as "just promoted" or "waiting to see who's not loaned out/in financial trouble". Certain posters' bed-wetting over our lack of early signings has always been hilarious given the prevailing conditions, but this time around it's a stated goal to get them in early - which has certainly been the case with Forren if you believe him, signed 4 months before the season even finished to add to us next year. This year may be very interesting.
  8. With the exception of the complete lack of stripes on the home kit, you mean ? Black silver isn't based on anything though, and only one person has "confirmed" black/gold.
  9. The only one that couldn't in any way be described as stripes then. What a coincidence !
  10. Dan, you'll be pleased to know your kits are now doing the rounds on twitter again, one of my mates has just sent me a link to them through Facebook. Will be good to see how far the rumour about the black/silver away kit can get, though equally we've only got Tom28 saying it's black/gold at the moment and I for one have taken it as gospel for no apparent reason !
  11. The one thing I've learned this week is that if there's a situation in which none of us know any information, and there's no possible way we can find any out, we'll somehow still manage to get a thread to 10 pages thanks to a few people being convinced they know exactly what's going on and arguing that the opposite can't be possible.
  12. Black/gold away kit is nice, and if the home kit was striped it would be about 6 zillion times better, no matter what kind of stripes. But, there we go. Wouldn't be surprised if the away kit still had the ugly white surround for the aap3 logo though...
  13. Shorts are all basically the same, socks, we shall see.
  14. Obsessed and proud of it
  15. See previous page.
  16. Portsmouth and Swansea didn't.
  17. [ Yup, but no-one claimed that was the away kit colour last year. Also, gold is one of the 5 Prem kit numbers.
  18. NNTA, I just figured it was a bit misleading.
  19. I'd love amber and black, but I think black with gold is more likely, probably with a gold badge.
  20. Worryingly for me, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the statement.
  21. A teeny bit of editing, seeing as the club have just gifted this one to us, and you have a "blank canvas" as it were, for the statement of your choice.
  22. Good, because they're going to be expecting you to buy a couple of thousand.
  23. Adidas only use their templates for one season - the difference in that one to the new ones is the seam near the shoulder, which is also present on the current Stoke kit. So no, we won't have that in black, we'll have something that looks a lot like that in black but with the seams in different places. Also, that black/gold Real Madrid shirt you posted is 3 years old. What's the point ?
