Yeah, it's amazing, anyone would think it isn't a boycott at all, it's just a bunch of people avoiding going to a fairly pointless match they don't want to pay for. It's highly amusing that we sold 5 times more tickets to a Thursday night game in Asia in one day than they have for the closest thing they currently have to a local derby altogether. And I've been part of 80-something away fans in Crawley for a JPT game, so I know all about tinpot.

They didn't get an "extra" one, they got an "early" one from the next year's payment to keep them out of admin while they were in the Prem so the league didn't have the embarrassment of one of their members ceasing to exist mid-season.

The actual answer is "they haven't finished building it yet", and it's the line that's meant to link Linate Airport to the city centre. So for the meantime we'll have to use the 73 bus from that airport. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a4/Milano_mappa_M4_progetto.svg/800px-Milano_mappa_M4_progetto.svg.png

"reducing the away allocation for such an easily accessible game may prove counter-productive and potentially increase security risk if ticketless MUFC fans are in the vicinity of the stadium attempting to get tickets."
-
Also my impression, as I said to a mate last night, if you can't get one from the Saints allocation, buying for the home end from the kiosks in Milan seems the best way to go: They'll either refuse point blank in which case you haven't spent anything or they'll sell at face value and you'll get your name on the ticket but will run the risk of being turned away What you won't have done is paid over the odds for a ticket readily available to anyone on the day for face value, which still may or may not actually get you in. Having bought from Getmein and viagogo for gigs and Euro 2016 I'd be a lot less comfortable using them for anything where I thought they actually WOULD check the ID on the ticket, and this is certainly in that category.

FFS I am TRYING to keep that from the wife.

Worth noting that the trains might be a little... less than regular on New Year's Eve and certainly the replacement Bank Holiday date of Monday 2nd January. The Official Travel club seems like being kept prisoner in a sweaty dorm to me, but I can't say I've ever used it. FWIW I'd say anywhere from Blocks 39-42 (or 43 next to the away fans if it's on sale to home fans), or Blocks 1-3 are comfortably the best atmosphere. Anywhere else is a lot quieter. I'd also suggest getting a membership and sorting out an online login before the onsale date - you'll then get the chance to buy at the exact same time as every other member for the home games and as ST holders already have their tickets you're jointly at the front of the queue irrespective of Category - the only difference is that there will be a lot of others trying to buy at the same time so you'll have a bit of a wait. Oh, and the tickets generally go on sale at 9am, which is 4am EST which could be a bit of a problem. The Spurs game being on Boxing Day will be heavily subscribed just because a lot of people will be home for Christmas, but again, paying for membership puts you on a level playing field as far as buying a ticket for home games. Given the travel distances, collecting the tickets from the ticket office might be a better option than posting them out - don't know if "print at home" is available to you? In terms of aways, they tend to depend on previous attendance so you might not be able to get a ticket for Everton (which has a terrible view due to being a very old-school classic English ground). It will probably be a popular one as well due to Koeman, but the date the day after New Year but before the first day back to work might put some people off. There's also the possibility ANY of those games could be moved for tv yet.

Flicking through the pics in Milan I also spotted a Metro map in a photo which showed the M5 line under construction (and stevegrant had commented saying "still rebuilding that are they? It's a long walk from Lotto") so that explains why it wasn't open then and seems to be now. In an unrelated note, I don't know why Milan doesn't have a Metro Line 4.
-
Well yeah, all the evidence points to it, but I don't remember it at all. Though as I'm wading through the pics I can see I was downing a beer in the moments immediately beforehand, so...
-
I think they'll sell out before getting to 1 away, but I think the Inter criteria includes both this and last season (Israel doesn't), so you may have a slim outside chance with 2.
-
I don't have one and didn't need one. Incidentally, the wife is claiming we did have an ID check on the way into the San Siro - can't say I remember it if we did, and I know I didn't have my passport with me. Here's the print at home ticket, anyway (note ID statement at the bottom):
-
Would also be a question whether they put your name on the ticket...
-
Also noted that the Europa League Home bundle has sold out. Not surprised given the great value, will be interesting to see how many we get for Beer Sheva and Sparta.

There's a lot of it about. -
Just had an interesting phone call from ticket office asking our plans for Israel, city where we're staying, etc. Turns out they're considering running a bus from Tel Aviv to Beer Sheva and back for the match. Either that or they're using that as cover to make sure we're actually going and that people aren't just booking tickets for the hell of it... Added myself to the interested list even though I've made plans already, we shall see what happens.

Last year they announced the new eligibility on the Sunday, so I'd expect sales to continue for 11+ on Monday, reducing by either one or two aways every day through the week depending on how quickly they want to shift them.
-
They also reduced it for Midtjylland to 8 aways on 17 August 2015: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150817-kick-off-time-fc-midtjylland-southampton-europa-league-2625827.aspx I'm currently trying to get to Wayback Machine to find the removed update page which takes it down to about 5 aways for Denmark, after that I think it was all twitter only. Well, the server is down, but it'll be here when it's up again: https://web.archive.org/web/20150830005822/http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150817-kick-off-time-fc-midtjylland-southampton-europa-league-2625827.aspx

It might also cheer up some of the panickers to see the original ticket allocation for Denmark: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150811-tickets-fc-midtjylland-southampton-uefa-europa-league-2610572.aspx All supporters who attended the away leg of the third qualifying round against Vitesse and at least 12 domestic away games in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons are guaranteed a ticket if they order before 8.30am on Thursday 13th August. Those fans who purchase tickets for this game will be given priority for any future UEFA Europa League away fixtures this season. Tickets will go on sale with the following criteria: Wednesday 12th August (9am) 2015/16 Season Ticket holders who attended the away game against Vitesse and at least 12 domestic away games from the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons Thursday 13th August (9am) 2015/16 Season Ticket holders who attended the away game against Vitesse and at least 11 domestic away games from the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons Friday 14th August (9am) 2015/16 Season Ticket holders who attended the away game against Vitesse and at least ten domestic away games from the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons Saturday 15th August (9am) 2015/16 Season Ticket holders who attended the away game against Vitesse and at least nine domestic away games from the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons

They sold the travel club unused allocation to anyone with 1 away or more. A couple of our group got some of those. Also, I doubt there were 20 people who had bought tickets but didn't turn up in Midtjylland because they assumed their mates would be able to collect instead.
-
FWIW, you can probably count them if you like:
-
I believe Celtic's turnout was actually 200, but we'll definitely sell more than that.
-
I wouldn't say they sold "well", we sold a quarter of the allocation we did for Midtjylland (to the people who actually went), and that went down to people with "any aways" in the end. There will be practically no-one with 15+ aways who didn't go to Denmark eligible tomorrow, and not many with 13+. Lots of those people will have gone to Midtjylland and if they were going to go almost certainly would have bought today unless they were waiting for mates with lower eligibility and risking not getting a ticket at all. Basically they have to assume 100% take up in order to guarantee tickets, so at the moment with approximately only 160 of the 650 available today gone, there are about 400 tickets which will be available to ST 15+ aways in addition to the 150 they knew would be available tomorrow even if everyone who went to Denmark bought today - and again, there's hardly anyone who can buy them tomorrow.
-
Actually weirdly our group of 5 are in a range across about 12 numbers, presumably due to the number of concurrent sessions online and the need to manually assign tickets to the basket (so other people have the numbers in between). Again a few assumptions there, but seems logical.
-
More specifically: Log into Online Account on Tickets, go to "My Account", look at "Purchase History" and then "Seat". Mine's 000/0000/0000/>. Pretty obvious. FWIW we had 650 people eligible today, looks like we've sold 160, so about 1:4 of those who might have bought tickets actually have done.
-
Purchase history. Just look for the 3 digit number under 800. They're definitely consecutive then...
